Naomie Harris opted for spring colours at the 6th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday.
The ‘Skyfall’ actress wore a frock from Monique Lhuillier Resort 2013.
The white and mirrored floral patterned sheath dress looked beautiful on the actress, which she expertly styled with a purple Edie Parker ‘Lara’ clutch.
I’m typically a fan of Naomie’s style—her penchant for streamlined silhouettes and bold colours are always spot on—but I’m not fond of the heavy, black Stuart Weitzman ‘Showbiz’ booties and down hairstyle paired with this dress.
The look calls for a more delicate shoe choice and though her hair looks lovely, it hides the mirrored detail. I’d suggest a sleek, low bun at the nape of the neck.
How do you think the shoes and hair paired with the Lhuillier look?

I agree, different hairstyle and delicate shoes would have looked better with the dress. The dress looks great on her.
+2. Agree with FC. Also prefer the length on the model…coulda been better.
Just wanted to wish you luck at the Oscars FC – you totally deserve it. It strangely feels like I’m going too lol. I hope it’s everything you want it to be and that you have an amazing time.
Oh and Naomie looks nice but was let down by her shoe choice.
thank you very much
Hm, yeah, hair and shoes, especially the latter, are rather a letdown, but I love the dress and, from what I can see, the clutch!
Love the dress and clutch–I think I could have handled the shoes if she’d worn a bun. With both those elements bringing down the look a bit, it’s a tad disappointing. However, it’s still a chic look.
She looks very good here — but I agree that she could have looked FANTASTIC had she followed FC’s suggestions.
Before I scrolled down far enough on the page to see her feet, I just had a feeling her footwear would be all wrong for the dress. That seems to be a recurring pattern with Naomie (and Berenice as well). Love the look from the ankles up thought.
I only like the dress.
Not liking the dress with the shoes.
This dress + the purple clutch = genius.
The rest is meh indeed.
I like everything shoes aside.
+1. Her hair is so gorgeous
My overall impression? She looks lovely. But you’re right. The shoes are too heavy. However, I love her soft wavy hairstyle so much that I can forgive its covering the dress detail. Cool clutch.
The dress is nice as is her hair although it’s obscuring the detail of the dress. The shoes are a no. Why can’t these women get the shoes right – they hardly ever go with the rest of the outfit.
spot-on assessment.
Don’t like the shoes. Everything else looked really good.
Shame about the shoes because everything else looks great. Since the end of ‘Skyfall’ tour all of her outfits have continued to look really good.
I agree with you on the booties and hair, it is a real shame. The dress however is gorgeous on Naomie and the clutch is a perfect addition.
