The 2013 Brit Awards is the next major red carpet event to take place in London following the BAFTAs.
Gemma Arterton joined in the celebrations of British music, taking to the red carpet at the O2 Arena this evening wearing a sparkling Jonathan Saunders Spring 2013 ensemble.
I’ve studied this look for a while and even with all those sequins and the bright-red hue, this still feels a bit too frumpy for the Brit Awards – not to mention that it also feels too mature for her.
Black strappy Christian Louboutin for Jonathan Saunders sandals and a bold lip colour to match her look provided the finishing touches.
Are you on the fence with this look? Or does Gemma dazzle you?

A cardigan at an awards show, a music awards show- makes no sense.
she looks absolutely gorgeous but this is not really the event for a cardigan. but then i think damn she really does look gorgeous in this look, toughy.
I think it looks cheap.
On a twig, it could have resembled a dress. On her gorgeous curves, it looks like stylish office wear. It would need an updo, statement earrings and red strappy stilettos to get even close to awards show ready.
I like the red glitteryness, it’s the drop waist which adds several inches to the most unflattering part of her hips!
I really do like Gemma, a lot, but this look is terrible. She just gives me a granny feel, and the shoes somehow enforce that. So, that would be a no from me.
100% my thoughts and perfectly worded.
+ 1
The band of solid fabric hits her at her widest part and brings your eyes right there. It’s just not very flattering on her curves.
“…And the ‘Should of stayed at home’ Award goes to…”
A dropped-waist is NEVER ok for curvy girls. It just makes her look much bigger than she is and does no justice to her lovely shape.
On the fence? This is terrible.
She is wearing it as well as it can be worn, but this ensemble is so confusing—it’s like office wear meets Vegas nightlife. Not a fan.
office wear meets Vegas nightlife–LOL! Or teacher meets disco ball–this is such a bad look. It doesn’t flatter her at all, and that’s a shame.
Exactly!!! I would describe it as “granny goes bananas”!
LOLOLOLOLOL!
Love the sequins, and that warm red is perfect for her. I think the cardigan look could’ve been nicely quirky in the right venue (not here), but it certainly doesn’t flatter her figure.
This outfit just doesn’t make sense at all. It’s not fashion forward, it’s just stupid, really.
I can’t fathom why Gemma chose to wear it.
This is ridiculous. Gemma’s worst dress to date and it kills me to say it cause i really love this girl ! I hate the skirt, but the sequinned cardigan is kinda hot. If she had paired it with a black skinny with sky high heels, I would have rooted for her.
i dunno, she weirdly reminds me of christina hendricks in a similar attire in a magazine i saw two months back. i didn’t like that one and i don’t like this either. no matter how sparkly it is!
This is a big NO! Everything is wrong, including the hair and shoes.
Granny at a wedding comes to mind
This is a big no, its not event appropriate either
worst dressed of the year candidate!
