Andrea Riseborough attended the EE and Esquire Pre-BAFTA Party, which was hosted at The Savoy Hotel in London on Wednesday evening.
After taking a walk on the white side at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards earlier this week, the British actress channeled a darker aesthetic in a Christopher Kane Pre-Fall 2013 leather dress.
Rendered in a deep eggplant hue with black trim at the collar and waist, the button-down number exuded slightly more warmth than biker-black leather. But with the length and styling, there was still a sense of heaviness here.
She paired the dress with Jimmy Choo ‘Maury’ sandals. A less strappy shoe that didn’t encroach on the ankle would have created a more streamlined silhouette.
Thankfully, Andrea’s makeup photographed as less ghostly and more girly than a few days ago, and she looked more fresh and youthful.

What electric blue is to FC = What eggplant is to me. The dress is great–just the right feeling of sexiness (bc it’s Esquire) and classy cut (since it’s a pre-BAFTA event). I love those shoes! I don’t think I’ve seen them before. Though I guess a simpler sandal would’ve streamlined the look, as you say, I do like the look overall.
She looks MUCH BETTER here. Hope she fired the makeup artist who did that to her face.
+1. Hope she did.
She looks great here! But that hair covering one of her eye, is bothering me a bit.
Great dress. She doesn’t move me, but I like the dress.
Simple sandals would worked well but these sandals are great and I think still work with sexy, mistress dress.
I love the shoes, the rest is OK.
+1
at least her make is improved, but don’t like the dress
Not usually a fan of leather dresses, but this one works for me–possibly because of the rich eggplant shade, possibly because of the demure style. I only dislike the gaping placket. The shoes, hair and makeup (SO improved) are good as well.
I really like this.
Love the eggplant leather, though I’m not totally sold on the dress (see gaping plackets mentioned above). The makeup is an improvement but I think she’s got too much on this time. Or maybe the blush is just too bright for her pale coloring?
A vast improvement on her previous look.
