I picked the Demoisel!
me too, for the colour
I voted that too! The pop of green would look gorgeous against your skintone and fabric!
Do remember that most actors are teeny tiny. I don t care for any of them sorry
Au Palace !! No hesitation
1. You will wear a long coral silk dress with a light pattern that’s why you have to banish full grain leather shoes and satin shoes. To much and to “heavy” for the silhouette
2. With a long dress when we can see the toes and the top of the feet it’s very sensual and no strass on the shoe upper otherwise it’s also too much
3. You need something “poetic” with this dress
But something glittering – on the heel it’s perfect
Conclusion? The Au Palace shoe is for me the best choice ever
Couldn´t agree more. Plus, I think Au Palace matches well the discrete geometry that´s going on the dress.
If the Demoisel was more delicate, I´d pick it for the color, but it looks too casual for me and well, it´s the OSCARS, and full-on glamour applies.
I think I would have to see the dress at more detail to give a definite choice, but I can say that none of Mouret’s unfortunately… Even if they contrast well colourwise, they are not Oscar worthy in my humble opinion.
And out of Louboutin’s, I agree with Laura, Au Palace, although the others could work too.
Flo are the obvious choice, but on a positive note, being so matchy with the dress they allow for more interestingness in the accessories area, a la Beyonce with her black Pucci gown and emerald jewels, or Emily blunt in gold with the incredible touches of pink. So I guess Flo are the ones that come closer to a second choice out of the other three.
You have reflected my thoughts perfectly- the Au Palace are the only ones that come close to matching the style and fabric of this dress!
cool, my thoughts exactly
for me this is a no brainer – ‘Au Palais’
the other shoes dont fit in my opinion because of the colour or style
still, Im very curious to see what everybody else thinks
I have to add that I LOVE the Demoisel, and the Dolls White, just not for this dress.
I voted Au Palace, because they’re beautiful of course, and they have a solid heel and the ankle strap, I think you will be comfortable with them. I also like Flo and Corpus. FC, what about the white shoes? Don’t you hate them? I don’t find them very appropriate for your delicate gown, anyway.
voted for Didis Purple, with Au Palace as a runner up.you must be so exited.looking fwd to seeing the final result,no doubt you’ll look great.
Didis purple would be just right with the gown – balancing that soft coral with a little edge – while looking incredible against your skin color.
Didis purple would’ve been my choice if the fabric was heavier, the gown had a thigh-high slit (to show off the major statement shoe) and the event wasn’t as grand as Oscars, just my opinion
agree with Nat39
Corpus would be great as well if you rather go for elegance then edgy.
I wanted to vote for one pair of Roland Mouret because they definitely look like they’d be steadier.
But the selection of Louboutins appeal to me more. Sorry in advance for your feet, FC lol.
The Flos would be the obvious choice but the Au Palaces aren’t bad either.
Let me think about that one.
Only one option in my opinion, the Demoisel.
It offers a pop of colour and I feel that’s the only shoe that works with the chosen gown.
Although, it’s very hard to decide such things when you’ve only got small pictures to look at, it would surely be different seeing it all in real life.
But based on these photos my thought was as follows: Silver, gold and white won’t work (which rules out Au Hameau, Au Palace, Corpus, Didis White and Dolls White) and Flo and Didis Purple feel too chunky = Hence my choice being Demoisel!
+1
Demoisel would look great with the dress
Gee! This is so exciting!
Any of the Roland Mouret would be really cool, they add an edge.
But I think Oscar night is time for classic elegance so I’m going for the “LOUBOUTIN AU HAMEAU”.
You’re gonna be a knock-out!
Look 1.
The ‘Didis Purple’ definitely gets my vote- I think the girly coral colour of the gown needs to have a fierce pair of heels to give it a bit of a ‘glamazon’ edge!!
Oh dear, I really wish the CL Peacock Blue Vampanodo would’ve been an option. They were what first popped into my head when the dress was decided. I went for Demoisel in this case.
Au Palace
I totally agree with Vicky, the Demoisel colour will pop against the coral colour of the gown.
The others aside from the ‘Didis Purple’ will only make the overall look very neutral.
The ‘Didis Purple’ is rock chic sandal which should only go with similar ensemble; not with an evening gown.
Just want to say this is my first time of commenting after 7 years of religiously visiting redcarpet-fashionawards.com Good job, Cathy. Do keep it up.
thanks for your comment and your support over the years
LOL.. No black pumps??? I must say I’m very surprised,FC.
what a beautiful amount of shoes… despite that, I don’t think any of Mouret’s will harmonize nicely with your outfit cuz they’re too edgy in comparison to your sophisticated gown. “Flo” is a nice pair, but predictable. “Au hameau”, “Al palace” and “Corpus” will complementary very well the look, but in the end I chose “Au hameau” mostly because they’ll add a bit more dazzle to the amazing look.
lol…yep, no black pumps
Wow. This depends on your tolerance for pain!! (And how often you parade around in 6″ heels)
I am going to choose the one I would want to wear, which is the Demoisel because it has a lower heel and since you are already tall, you don’t need the extra height. Also, it won’t be very visible. Good luck!!
The Demoisel all the way. They would provide a gorgeous pop of colour against the dress and your skintone. They work the best in my opinion, though I’m not sure about how comfortable they can be..
I’d go for an edgy look. ‘Didis Purple’ with ‘Demoisel’ as a very close runner up.
The Mouret shoes of course would add an edge to your look, but I don’t think any of them suits to the chosen gown. The Louboutins are better, since they’re more elegant and more appropriate, but only two of them would really work with your gown and those are either the ‘Au Hameau’s or the ‘Corpus’. The ‘Flo’s would be too one note and the heel of the ‘One Palace’ is too chunky IMO. I think I’ll vote for the ‘Au Hameau’ because they look beautiful and delicate and I don’t they’ll be very uncomfortable. ‘Corpus’ would be my runner up.
I totally agree with her. With every letter.
Yes im the same its Oscar night am sorry FC it is only about glamour, Look 1 i choose also, no pain no gain!!i cannot wait to see you on the night, am so jealous!!!
I chose the Louboutin Corpus. They are all divine but some see too casual for the dress to me. Will we get to choose your hairstyle too? This is sooo much fun!
HAIRSTYLE! HAIRSTYLE! HAIRSTYLE!
LOL
Demoisel for RM, Au Palace for CL!
look 3 for me “the demoisel” is perfect. you need colour with your dress
I feel like we should choose the jewels first so then we can match it to the shoes. thank god there are no closed toe pumps!! I’m loving au palace so then you can do silver jewels, but youre so fashion forward so i feel like demoiselle would be such a nice complimentary statement shoe.
FC I know you don’t like white shoes so I chose the ‘Didis purple’
I don’t think it’s time for snakeskin, bold colour pops or cut-out booties. Keep it classy and elegant with a delicate pretty sandal like “Au Hameau”.
The gown is full-length, I don’t think it needs a statement shoe/any colour accidentally popping from under it, it will look awkward (like a burgundy shoe in Michelle Dockery case). It’s better to make a statement via a pretty clutch/jewellery.
She could always match the clutch/jewels to the shoe. I think a pop of colour would be lovely. But then again I guess I’m not much of a fan of pastels…
That would be too much, too obvious and non-elegant, sorry, not a good idea in my book.
…if you punch up the look, let’s say, with coloured jewels, you don’t really need an excessive matching colour pop on your feet, this is not a classy styling (esp. for the event like Oscars) as far as I’m concerned.
I’m torn between the Au Hameau and the Corpus!
I totally agree! It’s a hard choice!
I like most of these, they’re great but i feel like the RM ones would be too overwhelming for the dress so you can pick any of the Loubis
the louboutin au palace are absolutely beautiful! would love to own them. of course, my vote goes to them
The Demoisel is perfect; it provides a nice color contrast, it’s delicately feminine without being stodgy, and it’s neither white nor black.
I chose the ‘Au Palace’! On a sidenote, i think the Jimmy Choo suede sandals you have on display on the right will be a perfect choice. sad they are not one of the options!
au hameau for me. the louboutins are beautiful but i must admit the roland mouret shoes are UGLY! they look like something you would buy at topshop not something you would wear to a huge award show on the red carpet.
I voted for Au Hameau, but I think Flo would be a great choice with the colour of the dress. And on third place I would choose Au Palace. I don’t like the colours of the others.
I personally prefer Roland Mouret ones, but Louboutins would work better with the gown you chose. I think the other three Louboutins would be too obvious though with the pink theme, especially Flo and Au Palace, and I know you don’t like to play too safe, so I picked Corpus.
And thank God for no black pumps.
My eye was immediately drawn to the Demoisel shoe for the colour which would look amazing against your dress, but for some reason I just love the Dolls White for something totally different and unexpected underneath your dress.
I would definitely expect turquoise jewels and a handbag though so the shoe being white would be less matchy matchy.
I’m doubly excited for The Oscars now!
x
To be honest, i really want FC to chose the accessories including the shoes. Shez probably the best stylist for herself and I am getting way tensed to select a wrong one
You won’t….that why I trust you
Thanks FC
Well after taking so much of time analyzing, re-analyzing , imagining the dress on you and after re thinking, finalllllllyyy landed on ‘Au Palace’, I think its perfect!
Hard to pick. I’m torn between the sparkle and the glamazon. But I think the didis purple is the best choice because it will give it the right edge. You’ll rock that red carpet.
Oops i meant that the right one ! (Seeee how tensed I am)
Did you selected all of these ? do you like everything ? i don’t know lol !
i think i might go for Au Palace with white gold and diamonds jewelery !
I don’t want to influence the vote, so I will stay quiet
will you tell us when the shoe has been selected??? Oh please do!
Yes will do
Waah since when does Mouret design such fugly shoes! I really hope for you that a Louboutin will be chosen. I was torn between Corpus and Flo. The Corpus is a design unbeatable in glamour and sexyness. Whenever someone choses a shoe like this, reminding us of danceshoes from former decades, the look never fails. But at the end I voted for the Flo because the tan colour at the back of the Corpus just didn’t feel right. A few years back a matchy-matchy like with the Flo and the colour of your dress would have been a no-no but recently it gets a lot of faviour when done right. Just pair the ensemble with a jewel or metallic toned clutch and everything will be fine.
Corpus !
Au Hameau because it
- is a pair of Louboutin, designed my the shoe master!
- looks so elegant
- feels so glam!
Now my fingers are crossed for a gorgeous selection of Judith Leiber miniadiéres!!!
I voted for “Au Palace”!
Against the choice of the sharply-asymetric gown, I think any of the RM shoes except the Dedis white are the wrong shape (shame as I would otherwise rather like the green of Demoisel).
As the Louboutins will all have that flash of red sole to contrast with the pink, and anything more would be overkill, the best choice from them is Au Palace.
So I’d be happy with either Dedis white or Demoisel, and I think Dedis white fits the occasion, your fashion sense and your personality best – Au Palace is a safe choice, but you aren’t going to the Oscars just to fade into the background, are you?
Oh no is ain’t
Au Palace, no competition. I myself love a pop of color but the more colorful shoes are very heavy looking and the colors don’t match with the light simple coral dress. The contrast between the colors of the shoes and the dress would be too much. Au Palace is a simple shoe with an interesting heel to bring some oscar glamour to the styling. The jewellery will bring the pop of color
so exited for you, Oscar day is my favorite day of the year!
Au Hameau and Au Palace are the only real contenders for me. They’re all amazing shoes but those two are the only ones that elegant and fancy enough to wear with a gown at the biggest annual ceremony of year.
I like the Au Hameau or the Au Palace.
Maybe somewhere in the back of my pea-brain I just can’t get over how fantastic your Berardi aqua and silver look was, so I am thinking silver-silver-silver!
But I also like something that is very evening-wear festive and those fit that vision best.
I LOVE “Flo”…
CORPUS <3
I had to choose the Au Hameau as it was the most delicate and I thought that would complement the color of your dress. I did like the Au Palace, but felt the heel was too clunky, and while I loved the aqua and purple shoes, I thought a sandle would be best. Soooo, by process of elimination and my 1st hunch, Au Hameau it was! LOL
It came down between the Au Hameau and the Demoisel for me–the first because of the embellishment and the second because of the color. I’ve decided to go with the Demoisel, I think it will be a great pop of color against the pale coral gown (also best to go with a simple shoe against a textured gown) and will complement your skintone as well.
Very excited for this, FC! Much love <3
Thank you..xx
Look 5 – Christian Louboutin ‘Au Palace’ AMAZING!!
Au Palace !!
Lol- Just properly realised that two of the shoes are white and we know FC’s feeling on white shoes. Hope neither of those win.
I voted for Roland Mouret’s Demoisel heel. I love the emerald green with the coral. It will be a beautiful contrast.
I love the colour of the Demoisel, it would work so well with your skin colour and with the colour of the dress but at the same time, it does feel a bit too casual for such a glamourous event. I really love the sparkles on the heel of the Au Palace and I think it fits well into the theme of the evening bu the edginess of the RM heels are very appealing. This is really hard!
Corpus
I’m torn between Au Palace and Demoisel. The colour of the Demoisel would pop against your dress but Au Palace is so delicate and perfect for a huge red carpet event. I think Au Palace would be the best choice with turquoise/green jewellery cuz you wouldn’t look overly matchy matchy.
On a different note, I think ‘Au Hameau’ exudes oscar-worthy glamour and the delicate design will work well with the gown.
The ‘Demoisel’ can be ditched and in its stead, colourful jewelery/purse can be used to create a pop of colour as Meimei commented above.
Au Palace….all the options are phenomenal, though!!
The amazing Au palace, although all options are great.
Au Palace!! i think it will suit with the color of your dress..
I vote Au Palace all the way, delicate straps with sparkly steady heels, lovess!
I go, I mean, you will go with Au Palace! I hope!
It is so sexy yet elegant, it goes really well with the dress geometry.
The better part: it will let us GO WILD on chosing the clutch!!!!!!!!
I’m sorry, but I think the least awful is the “Au Hameau”, regardless of the fact that it won’t match your dress.
I think Au Palace or Au Hameau are a lot more Oscars appropriate with their elegance and their delicateness with the right amount of bling.
The colour of the dress begs for delicate/silver accessories as apposed to a clutch in pop colours such as the ones on Demoisel and Didis Purple.
Off the Oscars’ red carpet though, I think Didis Purple are beautiful!
I’d really like to know which ones are your fav ones, FC?
I can’t say…I can’ influence the vote
I voted for no.1 Au Hameau because I haven´t seen them on anyone before. And also, FC look smashing in silver!
Am I the only one who has voted for Flo?
