Jessica Chastain jetted to Santa Monica, California from Broadway, where she’s performing in ‘The Heiress,’ specifically for the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards hosted at the Barker Hangar last night.
Good thing she came, as she picked up the prize for Best Actress in ‘Zero Dark Thirty.’ And good for us, too, as it gave us another opportunity to glimpse one of her on-point red-carpet looks; this time a Prada paired with Jimmy Choo ‘Tease’ sandals and Harry Winston jewels.
She played the ultimate lady in red with this crimson gown, featuring a plunging, embellished neckline, not to mention her flame-colored locks which were swept to one side and styled into a glamorous wave.
Of course, a cherry lip finished the look.

Not feeling this look. Looks cheap.
Beautiful color on her, too bad the dress is boring and cheap-looking for a Prada!
I love her hair- she should be a L’oreal woman. The colour of the gown is sublime and looks fantastic against her complexion. The embellishment is pretty but I’m not wowed by the gown mostly due to the cut of the skirt.
Boring dress. And the fit is pretty bad. I like her makeup, though.
I failed to remember a Prada gown that actually excited me.
The fit at the bust is off, otherwise it would be fantastic.
This reminds me of her Calvin Klein from last year’s SAGs…a great color, but too stark. And though the red is pretty, it doesn’t flatter her as much as the blue did. The style of this dress is better (that one was quite terrible) but it doesn’t do much for her figure. It’s not my favorite outing from her.
She looks nice, though I’m still a bit underwhelmed.
All of her looks lately have been very pretty, but none of them have really wowed me. I wish she would take more risks.
I am really tired of this side swept hair business. I agree with those above, the fit at the waist bothers me. And I also agree about it being one step away from prom. There are things I like about the dress, it just seems to fall short. Maybe it would look different in person.
It seems like Jessica got a new stylist or something. I used to not get her red carpet looks at all, but recently I’ve been really surprised and impressed.
I love Jessica, but there is something very dated about this look. I feel like I would have tried on (a much cheaper knockoff version) of this for prom back in the late 90s
What I love about her look is the embellished neckline, and all that bling on her back are fabulous.
This is nice if a bit underwhelming.
Shes gorgeous but i wish she pick some diferent hairstyle
I agree. Curled to the side is getting a tad boring.
Not a particular fan of the dress, but it brings the best out of her, she looks gorgeous especially in the bust shot.
I agree.
I agree also
+3. The waist and the skirt are off for me. Her hair and makeup are absolutley beautiful, but overall I give it a B+. It is not on my BDOTW list.
She needed a belt for a more defined waist and obviously she’s still allergic to clutches 😀
Love this colour on Jessica and the gorgeous jewelled neckline! Amazing look from the waist up…the cut of the skirt lets it down a bit for me but I’m being picky!
I agree.
This is so her! Simple, classy and elegant. Love it!
P.S.: So happy for her award! Hope she wins the Oscar too!
