Cate Blanchett was back on the red carpet yesterday evening, much to our delight, for the Dubai Film Festival and IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Award Gala dinner held at the One and Only Mirage Hotel in Dubai.
Looking fashion forward in her Peter Pilotto Spring 2013 look, she opted not to wear the psychedelic pants worn on the runway, going instead for a more event-appropriate trim black skirt.
The pants weren’t needed as the crewneck beaded and embroidered peplum top with short flutter sleeves sells this look on its own.
A black clutch and sandals with gold beaded details, both by Roger Vivier, plus a watch by the host, IWC, accessorized her look.
Flawless makeup and a simple bun provided the finishing touches.

Cate’s Rodarte gown yesterday was a welcome return to form, but this look has just blown my mind.
Out-and-out flawless for me: the look is balanced and refined, the accessorisation is spot-on in the sense that it complements, rather than overpowers, the look and her hair and makeup are perfectly polished.
And, of course, the cherry on top is that immaculate poise and grace. She is well and truly on a roll. BDOTW, undoubtedly.
Couldn’t have said it better myself !
I agree with every word here. It’s so nice to see her back in fine form looking elegant and chic after a few missteps over the past few months.

I agree, while her Rodarte was a nice look and she carried it off effortlessly, THIS look is the winning one (!!) on her, so perfectly styled and suits her so well, looks like I just found my most likely winner this week.
She is The Queen. Another stunning BDOTW worthy look.
I agree 200%, long may she reign
Love love love!
+1
Love! Adore! She looks effortless and fab.
Oh I love this, from head to toe. I would like to see more Peter Pilotto on the red carpets, i love the brand.
This is totally beautiful, the top is incredible. BDOTW!!
I was beginning to lose faith in her. Oh, who am I kidding, I HAD lost faith in her. Now I’m nervously awaiting each new look to see if she is well on her way back to form. This look continues to rebuild my shattered hopes. Flawless, and I especially love her shoes.
100% agree
Head to toe perfection. BDOTW!
Love it! This look is flawless. I think it’s better than her previous look.
Totally agree!
It is better than her previous look. This is fabulous. I love it.
She looks awesome, BDOTW! I like this more than her previous gown.
This is is very much in the vein of our her two back to back Givenchy looks earlier this year – but far superior – flawless and another BDOTW look
Stunning, beautiful and intersting as always
I like this much, much more than the Rodarte. Everything is just perfect.
DIVINE! As for BDOTW it might well be Blanchett vs. Blanchett…
I liked her Rodarte ensemble yesterday only because she made me like it with that Cate way about her. This look? Adore the dress, adore the classy, yet fun shoes and her hair & makeup are simple, but fab. The sleeve of this peplum top alone can make me weep (in a good way). The clutch is a bit of a snooze, but I prefer this look to the Rodarte by a mile.
the queen is back !

i bow down to the queen, this look is truly flawless.
Wow gorgeous
I love it from head to toe. Definitely BDOTW. It almost feel like she’s not letting the year pass by without clawing her way in my best BDOTY list.
Finally!My faith has been restored
Looks like Cate could be battling herself in BDOTW, This looks elegant and striking, the accessories are pitch perfect with the beautiful blouse.
Not a single flaw to be found. She’s absolutely stunning.
It is flawless!
Very elegant and fashion forward at the same time
BDOTW!
Perfection. Queen Kate is back. We missed you, your Majesty.
Cate has found her mojo. Only she could pull off this look.
I was just wondering if was it possible for her to be featured on the BDOTW list twice, but then I realised I could still only vote for one look and, at the moment, I can’t yet bring myself to make that incredibly difficult choice. Again: only Cate… This is what fashion dreams are made of.
yes, she deserves it
Perfection! Cate’s been redeeming herself lately, but this is the first look where since the Oscars where I absolutely wouldn’t change a thing and haven’t the slightest quibble.
This. Is. The. One. Finally.
The Berardi had to grow on me. And I didn’t like the last look — color, cut or fit (although as Anne H did last week, Cate made it work). Yes, Cate the Great is back, chic and magnifique. Salivating over the shoes.
This is the Cate I remember. Knocked me right of my keyboard. I admit, I prefer the runway shoes for that top, but still, this is stunning.
I LOVE THIS !
ans i’d love to see Solange rock the runway look.
finally!! I found her grey Rodarte dress underwhelming but this look is perfection.
the queen is officially back!
Love this look and loving that the Aussies are looking so fabulous right now. represent!
Gorgeous, she is looking better than ever. Beautiful.
I love everything about this outfit, from the super chic dress, to the interesting Roger viver accesories. Cate looks amazing on it.
I’m proud to say that I never lost faith in Cate, even when she had a few iffy looks. I knew that she’d come roaring back with her incomparable red carpet ruling style! The Rodarte look was classic for her–only she could pull it off–and this is another amazing look that doesn’t totally depend on her awesomeness to carry it off. It’s pretty fantastic on its own. But add her, with her magic touch, flawless beauty, and incredible poise? We have a second BDOTW look. I am THRILLED to see her back in full force
Perfect from head to toe!
Gorgeous!
Am I the only one that thinks that this is boring? I love Cate but these prints are becoming too monotonous to me…
