After wowing us on the red carpet at the ‘Twilight’ LA premiere on Monday night, Dakota Fanning was in New York City yesterday evening for the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, held at Center 548.
On this occasion she wore a look from the Jason Wu Spring 2013 collection.
Her strapless pink lace dress with a peplum waist was styled with a studded black leather belt from the same collection, black Prada pumps and a Jason Wu star-embellished ‘Karlie’ box clutch.
Dakota styled her newly-dyed brunette tresses in a low ponytail, with a few tendrils framing her face.
Two nights, two colourful looks and two different hairstyles, Dakota is really stepping out of her comfort zone these days.

She is improving on the hair front. The dress is cute.
Nice buy pretty safe look. I guess I’m in the minority that likes her better as a blonde.
I am in that minority too. I know it is for a role but I don’t think the dark hair suits her.
+1
The dress is nice but the hairstyle is not.
+1
The dress is cute, but I wish her makeup had been better. It’s so light that it almost looks like she forgot to put any on.
+1 Some mascara & lippie really would have helped. She looks so washed out
Applause for Dakota’s recent choices but it’s slightly mediocre. The styling on the model is cooler and frankly im over peplums.
The dress is great. Love the hair color, but the style is aging her. She needs a little more makeup because she looks a little pale. I’m ignoring the shoes.
love this on her
yet another snoozefest from one half of the fanning sisters.
+1 – especially the shoes.
I love this and I’m also happy to see that she’s finally doing something different with her hair!
cute
And while she’s stepping out of her comfort zone, once again I’d like to see her try to relax and drop those shoulders down, it affects the presentation.
I’m not getting the hair. It’s like an Amish girl has run away to prom… in the 80s.
I think it’s a nice look, nothing amazing but still nice. I think the shoes work with the dress.
I really like this look from the neck down.
Don’t love the hair–Dakota has done this style before (with Proenza Scholer, at the CFDA awards) and I didn’t like it then either. However, the dress is super cute on her and it is great that’s she’s working some color! Yay! I love this style switchup.
