The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Kranji Commonwealth War Cemetery in Singapore on Wednesday.
For the second time during the Royal nine-day Asian Jubilee tour, Kate chose a dress by Jenny Packham.
One again – as expected – the dress was event appropriate, if not a little on the dull side. Kate appears to have taken a leaf out of the Queen’s style book, opting for demure pastels and lace.
Her signature hair, makeup and those LK Bennett nude pumps finished her look.

ZzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzz
Boring.
Okay, enough is enough. This is just boring.
Even Britney spears is less predictable…
this is boring.
Her hair, amazing … Oh, jealousy, you green-eyed monster…
Jealousy? what does that mean? Are you saying people are jealous of her? I have a feeling this is the second time I have seen a poster used the word jealousy to describe other posters.
Anyway, her dress, shoes, hair and makeup are nothing we have not seen before….
I think Marta means that she’s jealous of her hair.
Marta is jealous of catherine’s hair! so am I
She’s so cute!
I’m usually ok with Kate’s “boring” choices, because – you know – I get it that she must be appropriate, and respect protocol and all that…But this is just TOO boring, plus it’s basically the same dress she wore the other day but with a different pastel shade and no flowers.
So, this is really a no.
100% with you. This might be workable if it had some color, any color. And she could pull her hair back here and there to mix it up without upsetting anybody.
She always looks beautiful, but so predictable. I wish she’d wear an edgy pant suit or even a skirt and blouse….something, anything different than dress, clutch, nude pumps, curls.
Boring boring boring!
she may do pastels like the queen, but the queen is waaaay more fashion forwards than kate with those amazing philip treacy hats and perfect coats
I totally agree!
when the queen was catherine’s age she was rather edgy
I have researched her fashion rather closely and she was on trend up until the mid-80s when she decided to move to pastels! I have seen her in pictures wearing crazy head wraps and super bright colors in the 70s,wearing ankle boots, strange furs, and those lovely embellished ball gowns of her youth. I’d rather see catherine take a note from that stage of the queen’s style!
YES!!
I remember seeing the queen in a leopard coat:

woah! amazing
that’s one of my favorite photos of her, the coat and boots are daring!
A LITTLE on the dull side???? She used to dress like a 40 year old, now she dresses like a 50 year old! And those shoes! I recently went to Hawaii for 6 nights, with carry on luggage only, and even I managed to pack 5 different pairs of shoes …
This is so dull.
So boring. Appropriate I get, but boring is inexcusable considering her resources. She needs a stylist or if she has one, she needs to fire them and get a new one.
the rulers of malaysia gave kate some black lace heels…let’s hope she gets the hint
This is bad, like really bad. Maybe she wants to match her clothes with the activity: visiting a cemetery. That’s the only reason I see for a 30 year old woman to wear this on a state visit.
I agree with the majority of the comments above.
Too grey. Makes her shoulders wider than they need to be. The fact that her sleeves end exactly where her waist starts is odd. While I usually like (and even prefer) nude pumps, they don’t work here. Her hair is frizzy at mid-length
On a positive note, it seems she’s really toned down the eyeliner. Like, she’s still definately wearing plenty, but it no longer looks like it’s been drawn on with a thick black marker.
I think your title says it all. She visited a cemetery and a hospice in that dress. It’s not really time for a fashion moment. This is pretty and she looks lovely. It’s weird to judge an outfit in this situation.
Still waving my flag for Catherine. I love this dress–would totally wear it, etc. It’s a quiet look but event-appropriate. She is almost always flawless to me.
Er, she was visiting a cemetery… in view of that, the outfit is completely appropriate and very stylish!
