Kasia Smutniak took part in another photocall ahead of the 69th Venice Film Festival at the Villa Laguna in Venice, Italy, this afternoon.
If her intention was to redeem herself from her previous photocall look, mission accomplished.
The Polish-born actress was radiant wearing a Valentino Resort 2013 dress.
Her multi-coloured floral-print maxi dress with a white collar and cuffs, plus a bow-accented belt cinching her waist was the perfect way to kick-start proceedings.
Let’s face it, we’ve experienced a very uneventful summer, so I have been waiting for this festival to inject some much needed glamour back onto the red carpet.
Kate Hudson’s return to the red carpet at this festival has been much anticipated, but on this evidence the one to watch is Kasia.
The actress completed her look with a silver brooch intertwined into her chic chignon and perfectly coordinated peach pumps.

I think you’ve never heard of her because she’s become famous in Italy thanks to a commercial when she was a model and then as an actress. She was in a movie with J. Travolta and J. Rhys Meyers few years ago, the title is From Paris with love. In Italy she’s famous, she was the fiancée of an actor who died two years ago, and this is her first important appearance after that (she’s the fiancée of a very important italian film producer now). She dresses very classy, anyway.

I didn’t know that and I find it surprising that none of polish gossip sites writes about her, they usually like writing about people who are famous abroad.
Come on, she is quite famous in Poland – it depends on what interests you.
Normally I wouldn’t like a dress like this but she looks good in it. Lovely colors.
Normally I’d probably say it’s too covered-up/matronly but she makes it work for her effortlessly.
The way the other dress was mistreated by her posture alone almost made me cry. This is much nicer indeed… feels a bit too covered up for sunny Venice for my taste though.

Love, love, LOVE. The sun on the dress with Venice as a backdrop — swoon. I really didn’t like the colors as much as shown on the model. The natural light and the setting really bring this dress to life.

I love this festival and I hope it will give us some jaw-dropping looks (I still remember Diane Kruger in Elie Saab, Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada, Vittoria Puccini in Versace – SWOON).
I’m on the fence. I think I’d like this more is either a) she wasn’t so buttoned up with the collar and cuffs or b) she retained the collar and cuffs but changed the print of the dress. I feel the dress is a little disconnected.
The collar and cuffs ruin the dress. They are too overpowering and random.

FC, question! I wonder if this festival is like Cannes when the pr houses have suites and racks of clothes loaned for the talent and hostess of the festival?
I guess in short what I am saying is how the process work for picking a look for the photo call or premiere in big festivals like Venice and Cannes?
I know Venice is on a much smaller scale, but I don’t know how things work in Venice
