Yesterday evening, Shu Qi attended the 31st Hong Kong Film Awards.
The annual awards are the Hong Kong equivalent to the Oscars and the British BAFTAS.
The actress looked sensational wearing an Armani Privé Spring 2012 gown.
Her lime-green strapless gown, which is fully embroidered with paillettes, kind of reminds me of a kiwi fruit.
The gown with a daring plunging neckline was teamed with gold earrings and gold bracelets.
Shu Qi’s hair, which is now a rich auburn colour, was styled into a retro updo.
This gown fits her like a glove. She is truly radiant, but those gold earrings, which for some reason remind me of discarded Ferrero Rocher wrappers, don’t work for me.
They aren’t quite in tune with the elegant nature of her look and they are odd looking to say the least.

I looove the gown.
I agree that the earrings aren’t the best choice.
The dress is gorgeous but I am not feeling her in it. Even though the fit is incredible, however, I find her a bit too busty for the dress plus the makeup ages her significantly.
it’s kind of weird because we get to see only one side of her boobs…
Thank you Asian stars for making our dreams come true by seeing such spectacular gowns on the red carpet ! (unlike other very disappointing celebrities)
+1
I know it’s very early in the week, but this might be BDOTW-worthy for me (even if I don’t like the earrings and the gown DOES resemble a kiwi, LOL).
The fit is great!
I love this dress’s sequins. They remind me of fish scales. And I mean that in a good way.
Awww my favorite dress from armani prive. i was kind of hoping diane kruger or…some one else would wear it…but this will do. she looks good, but her hair color, and agreed with the earrings…earrings seem like its clashing with the dress.
AHAHAHAHA ‘discarded Ferrero Rocher wrappers’ they actually totally look like those!!XD
She looks so beautiful! BDOTW worthy for me too. I have no words!
The only dress I like from this dull collection. That dress looks stunning on her
I have loved Shu Qui because of your blog FC. She is a goddess from another world, the same world as Fan Bing Bing and Zhang Ziyi.
She makes me swoon. The earrings didn’t bother me, but now that you’ve mentioned them, they are an itch, but not a mosquito bite. She still gets BDOTW for me.
she looks stunning! you are actually making me check out these Hong Kong Film Awards now! p.s. I don’t mind the earrings, I mind her other jewelry
GORGEOUS! I love the whole look – the unusual color, the sculptural shape, even the earrings.
I think she looks flawless. I love that slit in the front. Slightly risque, slightly avant garde, and the color is a good yellow shade without overworkign the lemony yellow that everyone seems to be wearing now.
I still think this is BDOTW worthy. She rocked this Armani piece which is usually not easy
It does remind me of kiwi lol! I would like it but for the plunge in the front. I know that it’s subtle but I still don’t like it. Other than that, it is a very chic and avant-garde dress.
Oh, and the earrings are bad!
LMAO, I don’t know what made me laugh ahrder, the kiwi or the ferrero rocher comment. LOL.
But anyway, I really like the dress on her, the fit is perfect. I don’t like her makeup though.
Gorgeous, love it, BDOTW worthy for me, can easily overlook the earrings issue, it’s minor, considering how incredible she looks in this gown.
Shu qi is the epitome of screen siren in this gown !
She looks amazing!! I don’t completely love the colour which is my own personal taste but there is no denial that the dress really is beautiful, fits so well and has a great silhouette. Love the kiwi and ferrero references!
Kiwi fruit… ferrero… you’re making me hungry!
