Sami Gayle In Miu Miu – 55th Annual New York Emmy Awards Gala

Sami Gayle was once again in head-to-toe Miu Miu whilst attending the 55th Annual New York Emmy Awards gala at the Marriott Marquis Times Square on Sunday in New York City.

She arrived wearing a red capelet over her black taffeta Miu Miu dress, which we’ve seen on Dakota Fanning.

On this occasion I think the caplet kills the look.

Her stylist had already overloaded her with Miu Miu accessories including a black-and-white large beaded necklace with a pearl-and-red crystal floral brooch, plus cute red-and-white gingham slingbacks and a red patchwork basket bag.

Was the caplet really needed?

Not at all, because from the second picture we can see that the necklace and the shoes are enough to sell this look.

Which look works better for you?

You can buy Sami’s Miu Miu gingham slingbacks from
and her Miu Miu bucket bag fromNet-A-Porter US.

The cape and the ugly bag are too much… I prefer the second look, very cute, but all I can see is her creepy facial expression… weird.

looks as if it belongs in the 80s. her pose freaks me out especially her facial expression, feels as if there should be some sort of scary music playing.

    she is very cute though.

I like the cape. It’s cute, she’s so young so she can pull this off. It’s whimsical, it’s vintage-esque, she looks like Audrey Hepburn. So in love with her and this look right now.

what the hell is wrong with her face? she’s freaky looking.

  5. Natalia April 3, 2012 at 19:57 #

    Her smile is creepy…

  6. heather April 3, 2012 at 19:34 #

That identical pose in both shots is a little freaky – she looks like one of those paper dolls with the cut-out clothes you could attach with little tabs (probably giving away my age there!)

  7. Carolina Roq April 3, 2012 at 19:23 #

She was trying to imitate Dakota, but it didn’t work.

For her first few times on the red carpet, she’s really bringing it! She looks like she loves fashion and is having a blast. How can you not love that?
She’s too cute. Obsessed with the shoes.

  9. Tiffany April 3, 2012 at 17:08 #

She look’s like she’s playing dress up!!
She’s trying way too hard to get the miu miu campaign and she doesn’t have the effortless style to embody the brand like a true brand ambassador.

the look is definitely overcooked. those pumps are so cute but they seem out of place with the overall outfit.
the ‘come hither’ pose and creepy smile made me shudder a bit when i saw this also

Kind of a train wreck in my opinion, but I am not a fan of the balloon skirt. Certainly a disaster with the caplet, but even without it isn’t great.

I see a new partnership on the Horizon.

I am not totally sold on her style just yet.

Did she steal the mad eyes from alexa chung?

    • molly April 3, 2012 at 22:39 #

I was just about to write that! I think she could give Alexa a run for her money.

    Minnie Mouse.

I was just about to post that, LOL.

I like it better without the cape, but she should have lost the necklace too. The necklace is competing with the straps on the dress and the black part is getting lost against the black fabric.

    Option #3

    I dislike both.

Too much, mismatched accessories, cheap looking prom dress, weird pose/ expression.

    • Emma April 3, 2012 at 15:37 #

I agree. None of it works for me and the pose definitely doesn’t help…

FC thank you so much- again- for featuring new talents on your blog. Other blogs really don’t do that enough. Sami Gayle is cute, talented and should be the next Miu Miu face, as she cute and has a distinctive look. Since Sami clearly breaths Miu Miu, I don’t think it’s necessarily Miu Miu overload as it would be on someone who doesn’t adore the brand. I surprisingly love the caplet on her. It works with her short ‘do.

      my pleasure…she is a cutie

  18. EmmaWoodhouse April 3, 2012 at 15:17 #

In blue those pumps are friggin’ adorable!!!! I want them SOOOOOO bad 🙂 In red they’re a bit harsh. I fidn the whole look to be a bit overcooked, as I really dislike the necklace and the bag is too much. The dress is adorable, but I would have liked it with just the capelet and the shoes.
I might be the only one, but I really don’t like her hairstyle…

    • Aline April 3, 2012 at 19:42 #

You’re not the only one, I dislike her hairstyle as well. And I absolutely agree with you about the accessories, the look would be definitely improved had she gotten rid of the necklace and the bag and kept only the capelet and shoes.

      • SkirtTheIssue April 3, 2012 at 23:02 #

I totally agree too- lose the bag and the necklace, keep the caplet and shoes!

    Holy smokes!
Those two pictures are like a game of “Spot the difference!”
They are completely freaking me out.

    • Vicky April 3, 2012 at 16:51 #

Haha, I was thinking the same thing! If I had seen these pics from a little farther away, I would have thought that someone just photoshopped the capelet out.

    • sarah April 3, 2012 at 16:59 #

+2 hahaha..i started laughing heartily reading your comment

    • firien April 3, 2012 at 17:17 #

I was absolutely confused. This exact same pose and expression is very disturbing.

    • CreoleLady April 3, 2012 at 18:22 #

      +4, ROTFLMAO.

    • Angela April 3, 2012 at 18:57 #

    • Clover April 5, 2012 at 01:42 #

It’s hiilariously true! She has obviously put some good time in in front of the mirror practising her ‘spontaneous’ red carpet pose!

  20. Alina April 3, 2012 at 15:15 #

    The one without the cape.
