Kristen Stewart In Stella McCartney – 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

Stella McCartney has been very popular this week.

This time a look by the British designer made its way onto the orange carpet for the 2012 Nickelodeon Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, held at the Galen Center in LA yesterday afternoon.

Kristen Stewart’s blue lace dress with a satin waistband from Stella’s Evening 2012 collection may have had long sleeves, but the skirt was of course short.

If I had her legs I would show them off all the time too. One should always make use of their best assets.

The ‘Twilight’ star has long been loyal to Brian Atwood, but on this occasion she wore Barbara Bui Spring 2012 blue suede pumps which perfectly complemented her dress.

A simple ponytail and a smile completed her look.

This look is 9 out of 10 for me. She would’ve gotten 10 had she improved her posture.

i wish she had worn this dress with the golden belt. the blue belt that she wore makes averything look so matchy

    • Caro April 1, 2012 at 18:50 #

      +1

    • Liana April 2, 2012 at 03:13 #

      +1

Plus, I feel like she always have that “rock” vibe, so the gold belt would have match that too IMO.

  2. Felicia April 1, 2012 at 14:30 #

She looks great. But I love the look with the gold belt. Adds a bit of edginess, don’t you think?

  3. Emmeline April 1, 2012 at 14:31 #

Fun color, but there’s way too much of it. FC, considering how you usually don’t like when people go too “matchy matchy”, I’m surprised you like this as much as you do.

I think she should have worn the gold belt and different shoes.

    • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 14:40 #

I don’t believe I have ever said that I dislike matchy matchy, considering I am the queen of matchy matchy.

I always match my bag or shoes to one piece of my look.

I believe others find it lazy and I may have commented on their dislike of this, but not my own.

      • Emmeline April 1, 2012 at 14:46 #

Oh, sorry! I could have sworn you’d said that before. My mistake!

  4. Alina April 1, 2012 at 14:36 #

    I prefer the metalic belt.

    Her posture is bad.

  5. CTgirl April 1, 2012 at 14:40 #

This is too matchy-matchy and mumsy. The blue belt on the blue dress with the not quite matching, but not quite contrasting, blue shoes, and the blue eye makeup is too-too much blue. This looks too mature for a 21 year old and too mature for anyone attending the KCA. And for the record, if KS has an allergy to accessories then she needs to get allergy shots. Her refusal to really embrace her access to the best in fashion is wearing thin.

  6. Rahel April 1, 2012 at 14:42 #

Her legs? Did you just call out her legs? I can name so many actresses with better legs and they don’t show them in every outfit they wear. Her legs are absolutely nothing special. People like Ashley Greene have wonderful legs. But hers? No. She has two extremely white thin legs which are so far apart that you could drive a truck through them.

Overall I like the outfit but I hate the blue waistband.

Btw her dresses never have a good fit. They’re always too long or too wide.

    • ellie. April 1, 2012 at 14:51 #

You don’t need to be horrible about it lmfao.
I love the dress I think its bright and fun, and I’m excited to see someone wear it that isn’t rihanna or Gwyneth paltrow. I agree her posture is bad but then again that’s all we can expect from kristen… she’s not a red carpet pro like the rest of the ladies, she can’t do posing. So all considering this is a brilliant look, her shoes are amazing.

      • CTgirl April 1, 2012 at 15:08 #

Ellie, I think the point is that by now she should be a red carpet pro. This isn’t her first time at the rodeo and she really hasn’t matured on the red carpet in the past 3 to 4 years. And it is a fact that her posture is horrible. As to her legs, good, bad or indifferent she can show them or not but people will comment one way or the other.

      • Rahel April 1, 2012 at 15:09 #

I just don’t think that her legs are an excuse for short dresses. If she really had stunning legs then I could have understood it some times(!). But even then it would become completely boring.

    • Emma April 1, 2012 at 15:05 #

    • Ju April 1, 2012 at 15:06 #

Did you really just said Ashley Greene’s legs? As in Ashley Greene’s manly legs? Oh my God. I too can name a few actresses who have better legs than Ashley. Kristen’s legs over Ashley’s any day.

      • Rahel April 1, 2012 at 15:26 #

Stewart has the legs of a 12 year old child. You call that pretty? Ashley’s legs are trained. You have to work really hard to get such a stunning shape.

        • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 15:30 #

OK..this is getting out of control.

          • Bec April 1, 2012 at 22:37 #

lol FC, what have you started!! How dare you compliment another woman! ahaha :)

            • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 23:00 #

              I know :)

Always drama on a Kstew post.

          • EmmaWoodhouse April 2, 2012 at 14:15 #

Haha, I was reading the comments and I laughed at yours FC…I swear you and I have the same expression right now or close to it! This site is supposed to be about fashion…personally I’m not a fan of mini dresses but Kristen looks nice here. Wish she had better posture but I’m glad to see her smiling.

    • Jam April 1, 2012 at 15:21 #

Ashley Greene have very “manly” legs. I will copy what you said, I can name of a few actresses who have better legs than Ashley. I think Kristen’s legs are way better than Ashley Greene. If you’re going to reference a good stem, try Blake Lively. Not Ashley Greene.

    • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 15:31 #

Her legs are her best asset…I didn’t say they were the best in the world and what does Ashley Greene have to do with this post on Kristen Stewart?

    • J April 1, 2012 at 19:27 #

I always want to yell at her to smile, stand up straight, and close her legs. Her clothes are always ill-fitting. She should know how to work a red carpet since she’s been acting since she was 10 or so.

  7. Emma April 1, 2012 at 14:52 #

I agree with you. Although, I would’ve liked it more with the gold belt, but she looks beautiful. I like this look overall.

  8. Maz April 1, 2012 at 14:54 #

wow…people are being harsh today! I think a lot of people would love to have her legs…

Its great to see her in a bright colour – and its lovely look on her, I’m just grateful for that…

    • Yeliz April 1, 2012 at 15:35 #

She looks picture perfect. This is a great color on her. And I don’t understand these comments about the look being too matchy matchy. When she would’ve worn black pumps then everybody would’ve said that this is typical Kristen. I don’t think that she will be able to satisfy everyone at the same time because there is always someone who finds a flaw.
BTW there are pictures from this event where her posture is better.

    • Jess2 April 2, 2012 at 07:56 #

I would love to have her legs lol!! I think she looks awesome! I definitely preferred other photos where she had better posture but she is just gorgeous and smiling and I love the colour!

  9. Riley April 1, 2012 at 14:54 #

Hate the shoes. Hate the hair. Hate the belt. Hate the fit of the dress…i like her though :)

  10. Jam April 1, 2012 at 15:08 #

I think this is a really cool dress and blue looks surprisingly good on her. I understand her decision of not wearing the gold belt, this is the Kid’s Choice Awards after all. The gold belt seems a little bit too formal for that. Her posture is bad I agree, but this wouldn’t have been Kristen Stewart if she’s posing there like Paris Hilton.

  11. gurlygurl April 1, 2012 at 15:29 #

By all accounts I should love this – gorgeous lace, stunning color, classy dress but it just doesn’t work on her for me. Bad posture aside I think it would have been better sleeveless on her. The mini with the long sleeve is more suitable to someone a little more mature with a more womanly figure. As much as I like things to match this is just overwhelming and actually makes what should be a pretty sexy look boring and old. What a shame, it’s all so right yet so wrong :(

    • bee7 April 1, 2012 at 16:01 #

ITA, couldn’t have said it better myself

  12. nina April 1, 2012 at 15:51 #

IDK… I can’t believe why every1 is letting things pass with KStew even when she doesn’t look good. I’m in SHOCK that Fashion Critic here says she likes this outfit! For real? The long sleeves are off season and the dress has a terrible terrible fit! I understand she’s popular and all, but WTH Fashion Critic, I expected a more professional and less fangirly opinion form you.. I mean, I thought you were a professional…

    • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 16:08 #

      Sorry. I’m confused.

Because I like this long sleeve dress on Kristen that makes me unprofessional?

Is this an April Fool’s joke?

What you are basically saying is because I don’t dislike this look, like you clearly dislike it, I’m not professional?

Honestly I’m disgusted and disappointed by your comment.

Her popularity has nothing to do with it.

If the fit is off then that’s because of her poor posture which I have addressed.

      • nina May 1, 2012 at 11:04 #

too bad you deleted my reply comment.. tsk tsk tsk

    • sami April 1, 2012 at 18:22 #

Kristen haters are the worst. You can feel the fury through the computer screen. Don’t worry about it, FC.

  13. kiwi April 1, 2012 at 15:59 #

Love this look on her.. amazed at the ‘legs’ comments :( I prefer the blue belt

    • bm April 1, 2012 at 17:09 #

Yeah, i saw the legs comment, and think “Oh, God”. Please people, she is just human being but famous also. She sometimes can be bad, sometimes good, sometimes great.
Btw, yes she need some coach in the way she should stand in red carpet, and i’m missing the gold belt, A LOT.

  14. Shruti April 1, 2012 at 16:53 #

It’s an ill-fitted outfit. And she should re-think this mini trend. It’s lazy styling. I don’t believe her legs are her best asset so going this short all the time doesn’t do her any favours. It’s great that she doesn’t want to conform to the Hollywood starlet stereotype but making a bit of an effort, showing a bit of personality and being a bit more creative couldn’t hurt.

  15. Lillia April 1, 2012 at 17:09 #

I don’t understand why everyone is being so mean about it! its just a dress.

amazed at these comments, its really childish.

for kristen Stewart this is a good look, if she’d have just put her hands on her hips and straightened her shoulders it would have been knockout.

  16. Ines April 1, 2012 at 17:26 #

Nice colour. Don’t know why there is so much hate in here. Seriously people compare the KS of yesterday to the one you saw even last year
    - way way way better hair (finally letting her red brownish back)
    - bad posture but we guys have seen worse from her
    - very nice colour
    - huge grin
    - she looks like she had a blast.

It’s not like she is going to turn into a RC pro or Charlize Theron and I don’t see why anyone would turn their back on FC because she has the honesty to say that this may not be the look of the year, it’s still a good one especially for her and she looks GOOD. At the end of the day, that’s what matter no?

Now FC, could you please post your views on FLOTUS outfit? :D

    • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 18:23 #

I will post the rest tomorrowi

      • Ines April 1, 2012 at 18:44 #

Thanks :) Looking forward to see what you thought of her “disco” look haha. Thought she would go for something more flowery/summery tbh.

    • Yeliz April 1, 2012 at 18:40 #

      +1000

    • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 19:58 #

I just realised that the Country awards are tonight, so I will post Michelle soon

  17. Dani April 1, 2012 at 17:28 #

To everyone calling out KS’s legs – Look in the mirror; do your legs look better than hers? Probably not. There you go.

Moving on, I love this look, but I think it would have been great if her hair style had been a little less severe. Adore that dress though!

    • J April 1, 2012 at 19:29 #

I actually do have better legs. I’m a distance runner & do weights.

  18. Jill April 1, 2012 at 17:46 #

I dig her high ponytail. there’s something about that hairstyle that makes me go “aww, she’s so sweet and hot at the same time, I wish I had her hair” every. single. time.

  19. Sanette April 1, 2012 at 17:54 #

I’m not a fan. Her terrible posture ruins every outfit she wears.

  20. Susan April 1, 2012 at 18:11 #

Her posture is fine. She looks beautiful.

  21. Jenn April 1, 2012 at 18:23 #

I’ve seen other pics of her at this event where she looks a lot better. The dress looks better in motion. I love the color but wish she wore different shoes.

  22. sisine03 April 1, 2012 at 18:42 #

i just love her dresse of course she’s better with gold belt but kristen is so beautiful

  23. zara April 1, 2012 at 19:32 #

first let me start off by saying how happy I am that she didn’t shorten this already short dress! I’m glad she went with this color, it compliments are skin very well and her SMILE is always just priceless. Her legs may not be best in the world but it is HER best asset so FC is right, she utilizes them very well.

as for the bad posture, I agree her red carpet outfits will look better if she would just stand up straight. but I don’t think we’ll see good posture from her anytime soon.

  24. Angela April 1, 2012 at 19:43 #

FC, don’t let ignorant comments get to you. Your blog is by far the most professional I have come across. Your reviews are fair, unbiased, and thorough. Those comments were obviously made by childish people that have no true respect for fashion.

    • Fashion Critic April 1, 2012 at 20:23 #

Usually I just ignore, but that comment was the most ridiculous comment I have ever read on my blog.

      • Angela April 1, 2012 at 22:30 #

It certainly was! You did the right thing :)

  25. Venetia April 1, 2012 at 20:11 #

I like her outfit. And don’t see any problem with the fit of the dress. She’s posing in that picture, so the dress shifted a bit. No big deal.

As for her legs. Their beautiful. So what if their not the best in the world; they’re better than most.

And lets remember that she is a non-conformist. She’s been trying hard lately, so lets applaud that. She’s learning. But its also good that she always remains herself, lets not change that.

  26. robbie April 1, 2012 at 20:29 #

i wish iman would teach her how to work the red carpet and how to stand tall and not look so nervous.

hate the dress even on the model.

  27. Nat39 April 1, 2012 at 21:27 #

Her poor posture is the only thing that brings this look down for me as well. It’s an adorable look for Kristen, don’t find the long sleeves mumsy, the short length makes up for it and works well on her, the fit is fine, and matchiness is not overwhelming, it’s lovely, well done.

  28. Lulla April 1, 2012 at 21:39 #

I happen to think that she looks better dressed down a bit and looks boyish in this types of dresses. It just highlights her toyboyishness. She could have gotten away with wearing jeans and a tshirt at this event and since she took her heels off and traded them in for dirty sneakers, she could have worn that instead of this dress and heels she’s uncomfortable in. This would have been the perfect event to embrace her inner tomboy.

  29. Elle April 1, 2012 at 21:41 #

On someone like Lily Collins, it would have been wonderful. Lily’s Oscar look had the same colors and nude underneath the pretty blue designs. I think a bright lipstick would be great, but wouldn’t be in KS’s personality. This seems as cheery as she’ll get out. When dressing her you’re kinda damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Anyway, KS’s hair is really bumpy and really thin. I wonder if the extensions did something to her hair-wise because it seems like it’s not as thick or maybe never was thick to begin with. I do like the warmer brown color bringing out her eyes and skin tone. She looks a bit tan too. Her eye-make up is too dark. I wish they would stop putting so much eyeshadow on her eyes. She has nice green eyes to begin with.

The dress on the model looks better, but I wish KS went with something more edgy and her style even if it was black. The fit is baggy and not sure if anybody saw, but when she sat down, you could almost see her underwear. It rose too high up. I hate it that she always has to wear these really long dresses or short dresses. It’s tough to dress her body shape maybe? I am similarly an inverted triangle, just a little taller and bigger than KS so trying to get as close to an hourglass with what you have is tough. I like it that she’s enjoying herself. Is it me or does she look REALLY YOUNG at this event? Maybe in her teens. She looks really youthful. It’s odd. I think dark hair like black ages her a lot. She is a natural blonde, so let’s see some of that next Kristen! :)

    • zara April 2, 2012 at 03:10 #

I like that you’re not being obnoxious with your opinion.

  30. Aline April 1, 2012 at 21:59 #

    I LOVE it! A lot.

  31. victoria April 2, 2012 at 00:14 #

I really wish Kristen had worn what Miranda Cosgrove was wearing – the blue leather dress. Kristen would have nailed that dress!

  32. Riley April 2, 2012 at 00:26 #

Okay guys, less uproar on Kristen Stewart.
    Let’s just be practical:

    1. She is not wearing black
    2. She is not wearing a strapless dress
    3. She is not wearing leather (except for her COLORED shoes)
    4. She looks cute, clean and pout/scowl-free
    5. She no longer comes off as the withdrawn, apathetic starlet. She really has come into her own. Give the girl credit.
    6. She does have fabulous legs.

    The end.

  33. mujisan April 2, 2012 at 01:30 #

Snaps to her. It’s appropriate for the event, it’s not strapless and she’s not wearing black shoes. Hair and makeup A+. She looks great.

  34. Teleholic April 2, 2012 at 02:02 #

Lol FC anyone who calls you unprofessional has forgotten how many times you put Alexa Chung on the BDOTW poll even after she was terrible to you. You are the most professional fashion commentator I know, you ONLY comment on the fashion even when the person behind the fashion isn’t your favorite.

Aaanyway, I think this look would have been perfected by strappy sandals, but other than that, this is better than the usual from Kristen.

    • Fashion Critic April 2, 2012 at 09:54 #

Thank you. I’m glad the majority of you get what I’m doing. Xxx

      • manja April 2, 2012 at 10:29 #

we get it FC for sure,so just ignore comments like that.you are the best and thank you for being yourself.

        • Fashion Critic April 2, 2012 at 12:03 #

          Love you for that.

          Thank you x

  35. Lola April 2, 2012 at 06:33 #

People, can we restrict the commentary to the FASHION?

She looks good, the dress is great, and the styling is relatively adventurous when you consider her safety net (short dress + black pumps).

    Go K-Stew!

    • Fashion Critic April 2, 2012 at 08:58 #

      thanks Lola.

      • Lola April 3, 2012 at 06:00 #

        You’re welcome FC :)

  36. christine April 2, 2012 at 06:37 #

    if she wore the gold belt and nude shoes like the model did with this dress i would be in love with the look;

  37. Amy April 2, 2012 at 14:40 #

wow Kstew! hate her or love her but the girl can bring a debate.I think she looks good, I’m not a big fan on the matchy-matchy she did here but overall it’s nice and she’s trying new things.

  38. Gianni April 2, 2012 at 16:21 #

I liked this look, but I liked it on the models better. But she could have pulled it off though, if it wasnt for her signature “hunchback” stance.Lately she’s has been really on her A-game fashion wise, but her poor posture is killing me!

  39. Francois B April 2, 2012 at 20:55 #

Hate the messy hair + this kind of dress is soooo deja-vu for Kirsten!

  40. kristel April 2, 2012 at 22:23 #

The dress is too lose on her especially on the sleeves..it should be tighter to define her body.

  41. tracy April 3, 2012 at 03:16 #

I think that Kristen definitely wore it better. Ashley Looks like a vampire she’s so white and dull. But Kristen’s dress does need that gold belt that you guys were talking about

  42. tracy April 3, 2012 at 03:19 #

Sorry i meant Stella. They shouldve taken a better picture

  43. stewd April 3, 2012 at 06:58 #

@amy you are right kstew can bring a debate. She looks lovely, cute and i love her smile.

  44. alliehstyle April 3, 2012 at 10:49 #

Her posture isn’t great but its kind of what I love about her – shes a tomboy and she’s not that into the whole red carpet thing, so what. Who says just cause you’re an actress you have to actually give a crap about this aspect of it. At least she is showing up and smiling.

That said, its a lovely dress. I like the matching shoe too. Hair I’m not dying over.
