Jennifer Lopez looks glamorous in a red Bottega Veneta gown on the cover of American Vogue’s April 2012 shape issue.
The rest of her editorial shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott sees the sexy American Idol judge wear red hot looks by Michael Kors and Valentino.
Between judging on American Idol, her music projects and the imminent release of her latest movie, ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’, Jennifer has a very busy spring ahead of her.
In the magazine, Jennifer talks about her diva image, boyfriend Casper and motherhood.
On her diva image: “Sometimes I think it’s just because I have a nice car and I’m not afraid to wear a big fur.”
On her demeanor: “By nature I am not tough, believe it or not. No. I am a lover. And with my kids I am even softer. I realize with my son, I have to sometimes be tough, especially now when he’s pushing boundaries. With my daughter, I can get a little stern with her and she pretty much will listen. But my son will just scream and yell and run. I’m like, Aaaaah, what do I do with this?!”
On her boyfriend, Casper: “He’s adorable. But you already see that. He’s a good egg. I don’t want to talk about it too much. It’s my private thing.”
On starting out being insecure: “I think of myself on that day at the studio on Long Island and how insecure I was about my own talent. I just never really gave myself any credit. And because of that, nobody else did either. You mirror what the world mirrors to you.”
On ex Marc Anthony giving her confidence: “He always told me what a beautiful voice I have. He was like, ‘It’s in there; you just gotta let it out. It’s a confidence thing with you.’ Then all of a sudden one day I was like, I’m good at this!”

I love red, and I like the cover, but…is it just me or the second pic (with the Michael Kors skirt and top) looks awfully photoshopped? Her waist doesn’t seem very natural…
Photoshopppppppppppppp
Uh huh. And, um, there is a lot less in the back than what you see in person.
LOL! I do love the red though and her face looks amazing.
And her face looks weird too.
Love every photo, she looks gorgeous, curvy and womanly. She makes clothes look good. My fav is the MK tank, skirt, etc.
Love this photoshoot. She is true ageless.
stunning cover!!!
She looks stunning but I’m getting a sense of deja vu, has she done a cover like this before or has Vogue done a similar look?
It looks like Cindy Crawford circa 1989ish. Oddly dated.
Gorgeous cover, but why isn’t her famous SHAPE/BODY featured on the cover?!!!
2nd pic would’ve been HOT as a curvaceous cover image.
I didn’t even recognize her. Gorgeous, but photoshopped to the absolute max.
She looks stunning.
Beautiful.
Photoshopped but well photoshopped. God she looks stunning!
Yes, definitely well photoshopped. stunning.
Yes, the cover doesn’t really look like her but her face is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S on it! I really am not a big fan of hers though. It always feels like the same thing.
An all red editorial.. time to renew my Vogue subscription.. this is amazing stuff!
She looks great (she hasn’t aged a day!) and I love all the red but I’m curious as to why she’s on the cover? I have J.LO fatigue.
But the interview is interesting, especially the part where her manager pretty much says what everyone else is thinking about her love life. And the dig about her new movie- priceless!
I thought the other Jennifer- Jennifer Lawrence aka J Law- would be on the cover for this month with Hunger Games coming up and everything. Hmmm, I guess not.
The Valentino jumpsuit is stunning. I would love to see it featured with different shoes…tired of the red and black combo. Maybe a metallic rose gold!
LOVE it!!! Will def be getting my copy
She looks sooooo beautiful and really red is her colour!! I LOVE the pic of her in the Valentino jumpsuit.
