Who Was Your Best Dressed At The 2018 ACM Awards?

2018 ACM Awards Roundup

There was no shortage of eye-catching styles at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Attendees joined Carrie UnderwoodJennifer Nettles and Karen Fairchild.

Maddie Marlow: Looking like an ethereal beauty in Maria Lucia Hohan, I’m sure some people might have mistaken her for Saoirse Ronan at first glance. There is a lot of ornate detailing on the pastel stunner, but it sometimes gets lost in photographs. The pink Tyler Ellis clutch couldn’t be missed.

Taylor Dye: The other half of Maddie & Tae opted for a darker ensemble in a Kate Spade New York Madison Avenue Lilliane dress. The trailing blooms gave the silhouette great movement. A Tyler Ellis clutch and strappy shoes added some colour.

Cassadee Pope: The singer looked sharp in an Ermanno Scervino suit. The mix of satin and velvet had a luxurious air. She styled the separates sans shirt for a sexy finish. The accessories tied into the sharp lines of the suit without distracting from the tailoring.

Carrie Underwood In Berta – 2018 ACM Awards

It was wonderful to see Carrie Underwood at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marked her first performance since a facial injury that left her needing 40 stitches. She joined Jennifer Nettles and Karen Fairchild.

The ‘Vocal Event’ award winner struck a pose in a Berta gown with Giuseppe Zanotti pumps.

The style had plenty of allure from the plunging neckline and thigh-skimming slit. But, any overt sensuality was balanced by the whimsical tulle skirt draped over the embellished gown. The layering created a soft, romantic quality.

Combined with the undone hair and soft makeup, it could almost be considered bohemian.

Karen Fairchild In Christian Siriano – 2018 ACM Awards

Karen Fairchild was another beauty who wore Christian Siriano at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lindsey Vonn and Maren Morris also donned outfits by the designer.

The Little Big Town singer wore a flowing gown from the Fall 2018 collection.

Black isn’t usually a colour one thinks of in terms of popular styles at the ACM Awards, so this was an interesting change.

Definitely not basic black, the inky gown merged flirty and sensual details with the frilled sleeves giving way to the plunging neckline and sheer skirt. I’m sure that the latter element might be the detail that kills the outfit for some.

A statement belt buckle and red clutch added some shine to the subdued fabric.

Jennifer Nettles In J. Mendel – 2018 ACM Awards

Jennifer Nettles graced the blue carpet at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada, joining Julia MichaelsBebe Rexha and Lauren Alaina.

The Sugarland singer looked statuesque in a J. Mendel Fall 2018 gown.

This style has such a commanding presence thanks to its luxurious fabric and sleek shape, but it’s the pattern that draws you in.

The diagonal lines are actually a mix of sheer black netting and a flocked velvety fabric. The detail work reveals a hint of skin while creating such a sumptuous tactile quality.

She went with a coordinated finish with Dean Davidson ‘Ipanema’ stud earrings in cranberry quartz and coordinating eye makeup.

Lauren Alaina In Steven Khalil Couture – 2018 ACM Awards

Lauren Alaina attended the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada, alongside Bebe RexhaMaren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini.

The ‘New Female Vocalist’ award winner made a strong impact in a Steven Khalil Spring 2018 Couture gown with jewelry by Erica Courtney and Gismondi 1754.

The eye-catching style had plenty to look at between the sheer fabric embellished with cascading blue and gold florals and the golden accents on the sleeves and waist.

Instead of the ‘naked’ effect from the runway, she opted for a black under-layer. It gave the look more dimension, but methinks that the gown could have benefited from doing away with one element or two. Combined with the Tyler Ellis Perry clutch, high ponytail and trailing skirt, it is certainly a lot of look.

She carried it off valiantly, but it would have been just as strong without a few superfluous details.

Bebe Rexha In Yanina Couture – 2018 ACM Awards

Bebe Rexha brought some drama to the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. She joined Maren Morris, Kimberly Schlapman and Eve.

The singer often gravitates towards black, curve-hugging styles and her Yanina Fall 2017 Couture gown played into that.

Rather than being primarily about a sensual silhouette, the rich black base was decorated with a sweeping ruffle and sheer embellished sleeves for more impact.

The lightness of the ruffle against the sumptuous strapless gown had an arresting, whimsical effect.

It brought to mind Solange’s Giles dress from the 2015 Met Gala. Just like with that style, I’m sure there will be a debate whether the singer should have worn the ruffle as shown or flipped down.

Jewels by Dana Rebecca Designs and EFFY Jewelry added some sparkle.
