Teen Vogue’s 2019 Young Hollywood Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Teen Vogue's 2019 Young Hollywood Party

There was plenty of playful fashion at Teen Vogue’s 2019 Young Hollywood Party on Friday (February 15) in Los Angeles, California. Starlets joined Joey King and Marsai Martin.

Skai Jackson: The way the ‘Bunk’d’ actress’s Onna Ehrlich clutch and Stuart Weitzman shoes tie in the heart on her Red Valentino dress should have fans feeling the sweet love.

Jenna Ortega: Also in Red Valentino, the ‘Stuck in the Middle’ actress mixed sporty and prim. The Swarovski jewels were the most cohesive detail. Taking off one bold accessory would have given the ensemble more focus.

Amanda Steele: The model added some pizzazz to classic suiting with an Each Other Resort 2019 look. Methinks she could have carried off the styling of the lookbook brilliantly.

Marie Claire’s 5th Annual ‘Fresh Faces’ Red Carpet Roundup

Marie Claire’s 5th Annual ‘Fresh Faces’ event brought out a bevy of beauties on Friday (April 27) in Los Angeles, California. They joined Storm ReidAngela Sarafyan and Yara Shahidi.

Skai Jackson: The Disney actress looked sweet in Michael Kors Collection Spring 2018. This is not the first look I would have expected from the designer with his classic, minimalist aesthetic, but think it suits her to a tee. The white and pink tie dye print and oversized T-shirt dress design are fun and feminine. The accessories also add fashion-forward appeal.

Madelaine Petsch: Opting for coordinates, the ‘Riverdale’ actress wore a head-turning Prada Spring 2018 look. Some might crave a cleaner finish, but everything is working from the stripes to the leopard spots to the graphic print in the Prada printed blouse. It presents a sophisticated rock ‘n roll sentiment.

Katherine Langford: The ‘Marie Claire’ cover girl embraced a retro romantic mood in a Markarian custom Fall 2018 dress. While the belted silhouette might be classic, the glittery pale pink fabric with red accents brought it into modern times.

2017 Summer TCA Tour – Hallmark Channel And Hallmark Movies And Mysteries

The Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries edition of the 2017 Summer TCA Tour brought out a trio of starlets for the event on Thursday (July 27) in Beverly Hills, California.

Bailee Madison: You would think a whisper-light, tulle frock such as this Valentino Fall 2015 design would have all the whimsy of youth. But, despite its ode to innocence, I found something a bit mature about the dress for the young actress—perhaps owing to the necktie and her heavier application of makeup.

Danica McKellar: Taking advantage of vibrant, summer colours while she can, Danica embraced a bright palette in this Laundry by Shelli Segal fit-and-flare frock. While the floral print was already questionable in freshness factor, her styling sent the look straight away into dated territory. It had no chance with that teal-beaded jewelry, her matching seafoam-green nails, and snakeskin heels.

Cara Santana: Stylistically opposing her fellow actresses, Cara took a far darker approach in a Christian Siriano Fall 2017 metallic ruffle dress. What saved the look was her simple approach to styling with matching Schutz sandals and minimal jewels, even if her clutch as a bit on the large side.

NYLON Young Hollywood Party

Pretty young things came out to play at NYLON’s annual Young Hollywood event, celebrating the May issue, on Tuesday (May 2) in LA.

Madeline Brewer: Wrapping herself up in a Natori bustier paired with Halston trousers, Madeline let the origami-obi belt do the work for this ensemble. A black Corto Moltedo clutch seamlessly melded into the look.

Rowan Blanchard: I love young Rowan’s fearless embrace of style, as she took the fanciful artistry of this Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2017 beaded lace dress into fashion-forward territory with her futuristic eyeliner effect and crystal embellishment under her eyes.

Emily Robinson: I have to applaud Emily for at least skipping the ubiquitous sheer lace and exchanging it for sheer latticework in this Shrimps Spring 2017 dress. While I could have given the dress a pass, I don’t understand the golden handbag and metallic heels.

Bailee Madison In Rachel Allan Couture – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Bailee Madison In Rachel Allan - 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Bailee Madison was one of the younger stars to attend the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

For her big night, Bailee went for a grown-up look with a silver floral print Rachel Allan Spring 2015 Couture gown. The black netting offers both an elegant boatneck line in the front, and a open-back keyhole in the back, which looks graceful on the young actress.

While I love the dress in theory, it seems to overwhelm Bailee frame a bit to me. Perhaps it is just seeing such a young girl in a full, long gown, but it just doesn’t sit quite right with me.

A sleek, low side pony and beautiful makeup, complete with a deep berry lip, are chic and well-suited to the look. I love the contrast of the lipstick shade with the silver of the dress.

So what do you think of this look? Are you smitten, or does it not quite sit right with you, as it does with me?

Bailee Madison In BCBGeneration - ‘Romeo & Juliet’ LA Premiere

Bailee Madison joined Hailee Steinfeld, Douglas Booth and Ed Westwick for the world premiere of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ held at the ArcLight Hollywood on Tuesday in Hollywood, California.

The young starlet looked beautiful wearing a BCBGeneration merlot drop-waist dress with a pleated skirt and leather sleeves adding an edge to the look.

With her glossy brunette locks swept to one side, she completed her look with a BaubleBar black-and-gold bracelet and patent-leather Jean-Michel Cazabat ‘Lex’ ankle-strap pumps.
