Jenna Ortega’s 1966 Pierre Cardin Dress Has a Solar Connection

Jenna Ortega attended the Klara and the Sun photocall during the 2026 Rome Film Festival on Saturday, held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

As we saw during her first promotional outing for the film, Jenna has been worshipping the sun through her wardrobe, and that theme continued in Rome with a vintage Pierre Cardin Spring 1966 Target dress.

What I love about this archival choice is how cleverly it connects to the film without being too literal. The circular red and yellow motif resembles the sun, while the geometric design captures the spirit of Cardin’s Space Age aesthetic. It is a wonderful example of how a nearly 60-year-old design can still feel relevant today.

I also appreciate that the reference doesn’t need explaining to enjoy the look. Even without the connection to Klara and the Sun, this would be a fantastic archival moment for Jenna, whose exploration beyond her familiar darker aesthetic continues to give us something to look forward to.

And she didn’t stop at the dress. Even her Le Silla Amelia slingback pumps were yellow, picking up the colour of the circular motif and completing a look that feels considered from head to toe.

This is exactly the kind of archival fashion I want to see more of from Jenna.
