Daisy Edgar-Jones Gives Vintage ChloƩ a New Lease of Life

Following her vintage ChloĆ© look for the Sense and Sensibility LA premiere, Daisy Edgar-Jones continued exploring the house’s archives with two early-morning press appearances in New York.

Both looks feature graphic tops from ChloĆ©’s Spring 1999 collection, designed by Stella McCartney. It’s a lovely continuation of her premiere moment, with the styling making these archival pieces feel so current.

Hummingbird Romance

For her first appearance, Daisy wore a vintage ChloƩ Spring 1999 hummingbird-print top, sourced by My Runway Archive, with bright chartreuse leather trousers.

While the watercolour-like print is beautiful, I’m all about those chartreuse vintage Versace leather trousers from the 2000s. The shade picks up the warmer tones in the print, making this an inspired pairing.

This is the kind of styling I love to see. Recreating a runway look can work, but I’m far more interested in seeing how a stylist interprets a piece away from the runway. It tells us so much more about their vision.

It’s Y2K dressing at its best, without feeling like a throwback.

Eagle-Eyed

Her second look featured another ChloĆ© Spring 1999 archive piece with an airbrushed eagle motif, paired with pale blue lace-trimmed shorts from ChloĆ©’s Spring 2026 collection.

This was slightly more daring thanks to the lingerie-inspired shorts. I love the idea of mixing pieces from collections nearly three decades apart, particularly when the result feels this playful.

Speaking of nostalgia, the model on the original runway is wearing those rhinestone, heart-accented ChloƩ sunglasses. Does anyone else remember when we, along with seemingly every celebrity, were obsessed with them?

The white pointed-toe pumps add to the freshness of this look.

I’ve always enjoyed the press junket side of a promotional tour just as much as the red carpet. It’s where we get to see how stylists approach more casual dressing.
