Céline Dion’s Latest Dior Look Echoes Opening Night

When Céline Dion opened her Paris 2026-2027 residency earlier this month, Dior was already an important part of a couture wardrobe that also included Alaïa, Schiaparelli, Tom Ford and Givenchy. Her opening-night Dior look by Jonathan Anderson revisited the house’s archival Poulenc silhouette.

For her September 25 performance at Plénitude Arena, Céline returned to Dior with a second custom creation, worn while performing ‘On ne change pas’, that feels closely connected to the first.

Both are black column dresses built around asymmetrical sculptural pleating, but this time the effect is less expansive. Rather than the pleats extending from both hips, the fan-shaped crin sweeps across the bodice before forming a side basque, with crystal and pearl embroidery adding some sparkle under the stage lights.

Jonathan Anderson appears to be developing the same idea for Céline rather than starting again. This isn’t a repeat of her opening-night dress, but you can immediately see the relationship between them, giving her Dior looks for the residency a recognisable identity. However, I am interested to see where Jonathan Anderson takes Céline’s Dior wardrobe next.
