Rooney & Kate Mara Twin in Calvin Klein Collection in Venice
Rooney Mara and Kate Mara continued their Venice Film Festival run at the Cartier Cinema Club, hosted by Vanity Fair, and after playing twin sisters in Bucking Fastard, their latest fashion moment feels perfectly timed.
The real-life sisters both wore Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2026, with their stylists working together to dress them in variations of the same apron-style silhouette.
Sisters In Sync
Rooney, naturally, wore the black dress with the matching black cotton headscarf. Even though this is a playful nod to the film, the look sits so firmly in Rooney’s minimalist wheelhouse that you could almost believe it had been designed with her in mind.
What I particularly like is that the headscarf doesn’t feel like an accessory added after the fact. It is integral to the runway look, and Rooney carries that styling straight into Venice.
Short And Sweet
Kate, naturally, wore the white mini version with a matching white washed-satin headscarf. I love how they are wearing almost the same thing, yet each look remains aligned with their individual style personalities.
We have already seen Kaia Gerber in this exact mini, while Renate Reinsve wore the longer white version to the 2026 European Film Awards, but Kate and Rooney wearing these looks together gives the collection a completely different context.
The black-and-white pairing could have felt a little too coordinated on the red carpet, especially for those of you fatigued by method and thematic dressing, but in the context of this event, this was probably the one occasion when leaning into the sister act made perfect sense.
Two sisters playing twins, one Calvin Klein Collection, two versions of the same idea. Venice isn’t usually the place for thematic dressing, so this is likely to be the only example we’ll see at the festival – and from the sisters during this press tour.
