2026 Nouvelles Vagues International Biarritz Film Festival Closing Ceremony

And just like that, the 2026 Nouvelles Vagues International Biarritz Film Festival has come to a close.

As expected from an event sponsored by Chanel, the closing ceremony became another showcase for the house, with jury president Kristen Stewart joined by Whitney Peak and Chiara Mastroianni.

Bra, Tweed, Stewart

Kristen Stewart wore a Chanel Resort 2027 navy-and-cream tweed jacket and matching skirt.

Would it really be a Kristen Stewart Chanel appearance if she didn’t make it feel a little undone? Of course, the jacket was worn open to reveal a Chanel bra, injecting her signature irreverence into one of the house’s most classic fabrics.

The loafers only reinforced that relaxed attitude. I know they won’t be to everyone’s taste, but they made far more sense than a pair of heels would have here. Kristen has never been interested in looking overly polished, and this look stayed true to that philosophy.

Still Not Sold

Whitney Peak wore a Chanel Fall 2026 look with a sleeveless cashmere knit over a pale-blue top which felt completely at odds with a summer festival in Biarritz.

I loved her opening ceremony look, but these drop-waist silhouettes from Chanel’s Fall 2026 collection still aren’t winning me over. Chanel Fine Jewelry completed the look.

Simplicity Wins

Chiara Mastroianni wore a Chanel Pre-Fall 2026 black knitted ensemble styled with Chanel Fine Jewelry. Sometimes the simplest look is the one that resonates most.

While Kristen experimented and Whitney layered up, Chiara embraced quiet confidence in a fluid black knitted look that felt entirely effortless. The oversized clutch and sunglasses kept the styling understated.
