Anya Taylor-Joy attended The Super Mario Galaxy Tokyo photocall on Thursday, and, of course, her first official look leans into the theme.

Dressed in a custom Jacquemus crop top and flared skirt inspired by Le Palmier Fall 2026 collection, Anya channels the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. The flared hem and peach-toned hue hint at Princess Peach, but it is the exaggerated, halo-like hat that delivers the clearest nod, echoing a mushroom-like silhouette.

What continues to set Anya apart on the press tour circuit is how she approaches theme. It never feels forced or overly literal; instead, she weaves references into her looks so they feel instinctive and aligned with the story she is telling. There is always a sense that the fashion is supporting the narrative.

The only drawback here is the strap of her crop top being a different colour from the rest of the look. It is a small detail, but one that is irrationally bothering me.

Studying Anya’s character, this is Peach Vacation mode. Could this signal a thematic press tour where Anya takes cues from Princess Peach’s wardrobe, much like Margot Robbie did throughout her Barbie run? We will have to wait and see.
