Mckenna Grace Wore Vera Wang Haute To The 2026 Oscars
We see so many archival pulls on the red carpet these days, but I always appreciate a well-judged homage. That is exactly what Mckenna Grace delivered when she stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 Oscars on Sunday night.

The actress wore a custom Vera Wang Haute satin ballgown with a basque waist: an Oscar-worthy silhouette no matter how you slice it.
So what was the reference? The colour and the stole give it away.

The look clearly nods to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Ralph Lauren gown from the 1999 Oscars. It is one of the ceremony’s most recognisable fashion moments, even if history has been a little divided on the dress itself.

The original was famously a touch too big, and the taffeta creased, as taffeta inevitably does. This version, however, doesn’t. suffer from those elements. The corseted bodice defines the waist with precision, the skirt’s volume is sculpted rather than overwhelming, and the proportions feel far more considered.

Smiling Rocks jewels and a soft updo completed the look, allowing the gown, and the nostalgia behind it, to do all the talking.
