Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu Wore Saint Laurent To The ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 5 Paris Premiere
After a huge build-up, Emily In Paris Season Five premiered at Le Grand Rex in Paris this evening, and I was genuinely excited to see what the cast would bring to the red carpet.

Which is why my heart sank when Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu stepped out in this Saint Laurent high-low black lace dress.
Not because the dress itself is bad — far from it — but because it already feels tired. We’ve seen this look too many times in too short a space of time. Anja Rubik wore the shorter version years ago. More recently, Leila George wore it to the Saint Laurent Spring 2026 show back in September, and Zoe Saldana stepped out in it earlier this year at the 2025 César Film Awards in Paris. By the time it landed here, the impact had already evaporated.
For a season premiere that’s been so heavily teased, this felt like a missed opportunity to surprise, or even just refresh. Instead, the choice reads safe and recycled, which is disappointing given Philippine’s usual red carpet presence.
The trailing coat only added to my frustration. Watching it drag along the carpet felt isn’t chic, and it distracted from what little freshness the look might have had.
I hate saying this, but I’m thoroughly disappointed.
Pomellato jewels completed her look.
