Cailee Spaeny attended the Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery fan screening at the Paris Theater in New York, stepping onto the green carpet in a look that could only come from Miu Miu.

The house’s signatures were all present: embellishment, a touch of sweetness, and—of course—the faux bra and camisole strap layering inspired by the Fall 2025 runway. On paper, it should have offered an interesting tension between prim detailing and off-the-shoulder elegance.

I’m usually team detail over team LBD, yet this time I found myself wishing for restraint.

The dress would have been stronger had it leaned fully into simplicity or delivered a sharper execution of the layered construction. That middle layer disrupts what could have been a clean, confident moment, and I’m not entirely sold on the embellished section either — though the muddled middle is likely influencing that opinion.

Cailee still looked lovely—she always does—but the concept deserved a sharper execution.
