Tilda Swinton’s Two-Day Chanel Showcase at the Marrakech Film Festival
If there is one thing we’ve learned from the creative-director shuffle of 2025, it’s that not every ambassador has found their footing with ease. Tilda Swinton, however, is in a lane entirely of her own. Under Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel, she’s bringing he singular blend of fashion intellect, and quiet restraint.. Her back-to-back appearances on days six and seven of the Marrakech International Film Festival felt like a masterclass in how one woman can tell two completely different stories with the same house.

Day Six
Tilda lean into a softly graphic mood with her modified Chanel Spring 2026 look. The top half immediately hinted at a 1960s sensibility through its clean lines and sharp colour contrast, while the pleated skirt injected some fluidity, creating a gentle push and pull between structure and softness. The addition of sleeves altered the runway balance beautifully for the red carpet. I’ll confess, the white-and-black Chanel shoes are a fraction brighter than I would have chosen against the ecru tone, but they weren’t enough to derail the overall harmony of the look.

Day Seven
New day, and an entirely different energy — relaxed, layered and quietly confident. I’m flat-out ignoring the beige-and-white Chanel pumps because what truly captivated me was the interplay between the salmon shirt and the burgundy skirt. There’s something deliciously nonchalant about how those tones sit together, neither competing nor fading into the background. Tilda has an extraordinary knack for taking the simplest components and making them feel so elegant through posture alone. The starburst Chanel earrings were a rare flicker of sparkle for her, but they felt perfectly placed.
Two days, two silhouettes, two moods — and yet both felt utterly, unmistakably Tilda. Under Blazy, Chanel it’s giving Tilda space to be exactly who she is, and the results in Marrakech are proof.
