Sydney Sweeney Wore Miu Miu To The 2025 Governors Awards
Sydney Sweeney returned to the red carpet for the 2025 Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom, and let me be honest — I exhaled. After a season of lingerie-leaning press tour looks for Christy that left most of us begging for a reboot, this was the reset button I’d been waiting for.

Sydney was back in Miu Miu, a label that has historically served her well. Her Met Gala gown still lives rent-free (with single occupancy) in my mind, and I’ve been quietly waiting for a look that could exist in the same universe. While nothing has quite reached that level this year, this strapless embellished gown comes the closest.
The sweetheart neckline, the sparkling lattice embroidery, the clean column silhouette — it all evokes a kind of glamour that feels far more considered than the overtly sultry looks she’s been leaning into. That chiffon wrap draped across her arms and trailing behind her elevates this beyond “pretty”; it feels like a screen-sirens-era callback.
That’s where the Met Gala connection creeps in. The wrapped chiffon brings the same retro scent as her Miu Miu look back in May. It quietly softens the sparkle, and gives the whole moment a whiff of ’50s couture fantasy.
Diamond Dena Kemp earrings completed the look.
If this is the beginning of a new style chapter — one where glamour leads and the lingerie stays backstage — I’m ready to read every page.
