Kate Hudson attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new film Song Sung Blue during AFI Fest, which served as the festival’s closing film.

We love Kate for her year-round summer glow, often reflected in the bright and bubbly colours she brings to the red carpet, but on this occasion, she opted for something more seasonal from Roksanda.

Her gown, cut from copper satin, instantly evoked late-autumn warmth — luminous, rich, and perfectly attuned to her natural colouring. The fluid silhouette and gathered detailing around the waist gave the look an easy charm. And remarkably, the satin stayed pristine all evening — something that shouldn’t go unnoticed.

The tone worked beautifully with her skin and golden highlights. My only reservation is the hair — the lacquered, loosely waved style didn’t quite match the sophistication of the gown. A cleaner, more deliberate approach could have tied the whole look together.

Still, there’s no denying how striking she looked. This Roksanda gown captures exactly what Kate does best: radiating confidence through simplicity and colour.
