Gillian Anderson joined co-stars Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, and Jared Leto for the UK event of Disney’s Tron: Ares at Piccadilly Lights in London this week.

Known for her penchant for romantic Erdem florals and luxe Chloé tailoring, Gillian surprised me with something entirely different: a sleek black leather Norma Kamali dress. The fit-and-flare silhouette felt strong and sculptural, marking a confident departure from her usual playbook.

What I really admire is how she stepped outside her comfort zone, nodding to the futuristic codes of the Tron universe—without tipping into costume or literal sci-fi territory. The leather grounded her in the film’s high-tech mood, while the cut kept the look anchored in the elegance that has always defined her red carpet style.

Silver metallic ankle-strap sandals finished the look, adding just the right touch of high-tech shine.
