Scarlett Johansson Wore Chloé To The ‘Eleanor the Great’ New York Screening
Scarlett Johansson attended the New York screening of Eleanor the Great on Wednesday, and my first thought was: we were so close.
This press tour has been such a joy to follow, with one winning look after another since the film premiered at Cannes. But her Chloé white suit? It just didn’t quite come together the way it should have. I loved the idea—the sharp cut of the jacket, the lace bustier adding a touch of femininity, and her David Webb Totem Pendant featuring aquamarine, brown moonstone, and orange moonstone was a masterstroke of accessorising.
The problem was the trousers. Chloe is notorious for extra-long hems, but at 5’3” (1.6m), Scarlett was slightly overwhelmed by the flares. It’s surprising that something as simple as tailoring wasn’t handled because it would’ve changed the entire outcome.
And that’s the frustration: everything else worked. With a few inches trimmed off, this would have been another highlight in what has been one of her strongest red carpet runs in years – including her tour for ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’. This was just shy of perfect, but I will say that I love it anyway.
