Noémie Merlant Wore Louis Vuitton To The ‘Duse’ Venice Film Festival Photocall and Premiere
We missed Noémie Merlant at Cannes this year, but the French actress made her return to the European circuit for Venice, where she promoted her new film Duse.

Photocall: Velvet Transition
Three years ago, her Louis Vuitton look was all sharp lines and futuristic crop-top energy. Fast forward on Wednesday, and she gave us velvet embroidery—still Vuitton, but this time softer, more wearable, and straight of the commercial Alicia Vikander playbook. At the start of this festival, when I was still clinging to the last golden days of summer, I might not have been in the mood for this look—but after a week of relentless London rain, it suddenly feels just right. Paired with simple black Louis Vuitton pumps, it carried that signature French elegance she wears so effortlessly—chic without trying.

Premiere: Butter-Yellow Radiance
Colour isn’t usually her playground, which is why this butter-yellow Louis Vuitton silk satin gown felt like such a rare gem. Backless, halter-necked, with a layered peplum and floating mousseline skirt, it was French refinement dipped in sunlight.

However, the bodice left me debating: was the central dent an intentional design detail or the mark of an affectionate co-star’s hug? Either way, it wasn’t enough to dent my enthusiasm for this look.
