Celebrities in Prada at the 2025 Venice Film Festival
As expected, Italian luxury brands will dominate Venice Film Festival. From airport arrivals to photocalls and opening premieres, the Prada came out in full force on day one of the festival.

Airport Arrivals
Would you call me hyperbolic if I said Zhao Tao just delivered one of my favourite Prada looks of the entire year before even setting foot on a red carpet? Because I stand by it. The ivory recycled nylon dress was understated perfection, dialled up with oversized shades and grounded by the Prada Collapse Re-Nylon and suede sneakers with a metallic toecap. Add the neatly coordinated Rimowa luggage, and suddenly travel chic has never looked so effortless.

Water Taxi Arrivals
Meanwhile, jury member Julia Ducournau kept her arrival look pared-back in a cropped denim Prada shirt and black trousers — unfussy, functional, and very much “director off-duty.”

Benedetta Porcaroli leaned into Prada’s cooler edge with a boxy black Fall 2025 dress, its raw frayed edges softened with Pomellato’s Iconica earrings, bracelets, and Catene ring.

Jury Photocall
For her first official photocall, Julia Ducournau switched gears into summer mode with an ivory printed jacquard Prada dress, styled with silver leather sandals. It was light, playful, and felt spot-on for a sunlit Venetian day.

The Mother Premiere
Sylvia Hoeks isn’t one to play it safe, so her sage velvet Prada gown embroidered with a silver sequins lining made perfect sense for her. While I admire the boldness, I do wish the colour had been different — with her dark hair, a richer jewel tone would have packed even more punch. The silver Prada clutch and shoes rounded things off with sleek precision. Astrea London jewels completed her look.

La Grazia Premiere
Closing the night, Julia Ducournau returned to Prada in a pleated silk creponne chiffon gown. The layered white underlay might split opinions, but I think it cleverly enhanced the pleating and gave the dress a sense of dimension. A black leather Prada clutch completed the look.

And then there was Zhao Tao again, this time radiant in an iris scuba Prada gown with a cape back. Yes, the creases were there (Prada and wrinkle-free have never been best friends), but the emerald and diamond jewels lifted everything beautifully. Proof that sometimes it’s the woman, not the dress, that makes the look unforgettable.
