Top 10 Best Dressed At Cannes Film Festival 2025

I was planning to do a Readers’ Choice list alongside mine, but when one person gets 90% of the votes, that idea quickly went out the window. So, here are my lists instead.

10. Isabelle Huppert in Balenciaga and Austin Butler in The Row

9. Elle Fanning in Armani Privé and Jeremy Strong in Loro Piana

8. Cate Blanchett in Louis Vuitton and Riz Ahmed in Prada

7. Zoey Deutch in Chanel and Josh O’Connor in Prada

6. Shu Qi in Ashi Studio Couture and Pedro Pascal in Calvin Klein Collection

5. Simone Ashley in Vivienne Westwood and Laurent Lafitte in Berluti

4. Natalie Portman in Dior Haute Couture and Austin Butler in Saint Laurent

3. Dakota Johnson in Gucci and Gong Jun in Stefano Pilati

2. Elaine Zhong Chuxi in Elie Saab Haute Couture and Francisco Lachowski in Berluti

1. Elsa Hosk in AZ Couture and Greg Tarzan Davis in Dior Men

As always, covering the Cannes Film Festival was a joy, but let’s be honest—there was a Fan Bingbing-shaped void on that red carpet. No one does fantasy couture storytelling quite like her, and while Zoey Deutch in Chanel gave us a fleeting flicker of that fairytale magic, the festival just didn’t soar in the same way without Fan’s high-drama presence.

amfAR was a no from me this year. Attendance continues to dwindle, and the A-list sparkle just wasn’t there.

When it came to newcomers, it was quiet. Cannes has introduced us to the likes of Úrsula Corberó, Vicky Krieps, Sandra Hüller, and Oscar-winner Mikey Madison. This year? I waited. And waited. No one emerged.

Next year, I’m manifesting a tighter guest list. Not every influencer with a decent follower count needs a spot on that carpet.

And as always, thank you for your support and comments.
