Alexander Skarsgård Wore Magliano, Bianca Saunders & Loewe To The ‘Eagles Of The Republic’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Photocall

After giving us a Saint Laurent leather boots moment on Sunday that had a certain brooding edge, Alexander Skarsgård kept the fashion experimentation going at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival today, with two new looks in one day.

I always appreciate when actors push the envelope. A twist on the traditional tux is refreshing… when it works. But this? This was like mixing every fashion dare from a party game into one look. A Magliano pinstripe grey blazer, a pink bow tie, and Bianca Saunders blue sequin trousers? Separately, maybe. Together? We’ve officially left the red carpet and wandered into a costume party hosted by different designers who never met.

I want to be supportive—I really do. But it’s getting weird. The colour story was chaotic, and the sequin trousers feel borrowed from Harry Styles. I couldn’t stop staring (not in a good way). Alexander’s too stylish for this kind of sartorial crisis.

The day had started better with these Loewe leather trousers, Loewe Campo Biker boots, and his own vintage T-shirt. The look had authenticity and a touch of rock ‘n’ roll rebellion, like he just rolled in from a midnight ride down the coast. It didn’t try too hard, and that’s what made it cool.

Let’s hope his next look is less Ringmaster-at-the-Riviera territory.
