Jenna Ortega Wore Vivienne Westwood To The ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Mexico City Photocall

Jenna Ortega’s unforgettable run on the press tour for ‘Wednesday,’ where she consistently donned all-black ensembles that perfectly mirrored her character’s dark and mysterious vibe was so much fun.
So, when Jenna joined Monica Bellucci on the red carpet for the ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ photocall in Mexico City, it would have been easy to predict another black outfit as the young actress plays Astrid Deetz, who has the same vibe as Wednesday. But instead, she surprised us all.
Jenna stepped out in a nude off-the-shoulder dress, accented with a striking black vinyl embroidered pattern which was a bold departure from her usual gothic-inspired wardrobe, and one that I believe paid off in spades.
The choice of a Vivienne Westwood design was particularly fitting, given the label’s rebellious spirit—something that aligns beautifully with Jenna’s character.
Yet, instead of opting for the longer, more dramatic runway version of the dress, Jenna made a savvy decision to remove the under skirt, presenting a shorter, more playful look.
For a premiere, I would say that the longer version could have been more impactful on someone like Cate Blanchett or Rachel Weisz. But for this photocall, the shorter dress was the right move for Jenna.
This look strikes a balance between youthful energy and the kind of edge we’ve come to expect from Jenna. It feels fresh, confident, and perfectly suited to the occasion.
The off-the-shoulder silhouette adds a touch of elegance, while the black vinyl embroidery keeps it in line with the film—dark, but not overly so. Perhaps in a deliberate attempt to keep the ‘Wednesday’ and the ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ distantly different.
In many ways, it also signals a new chapter in Jenna’s fashion journey. While she could have easily stuck to the all-black formula that has worked so well for her, this choice shows her willingness to evolve.
So, while I’ll always appreciate Jenna’s mastery of the monochrome look, I’m excited to see where this press tour takes her.
