Angela Bassett Wore Christian Siriano To The 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards

Angela Bassett was back in black for the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.

When I saw the ‘Black Panther’ actress in this custom Christian Siriano black velvet gown, it instantly reminded me of the Azzi & Osta Fall 2019 Couture gown she wore to the Washington premiere.

Why?

Because in both cases the detail on the skirt is working against her.

I think the silhouette would’ve seen her look more elongated without the two puffy details that sit closer to the hemline.

In this case it doesn’t prevent me from liking her gown. 

Messika jewels and a Judith Leiber clutch completed her look.
