Lady Gaga Wore Gareth Pugh, Alexander McQueen & Many More On Her Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour

It feels like a long time coming, but Lady Gaga finally launched her ‘Chromatica Ball’ Summer Stadium tour held at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany on Sunday (July 17), which was originally set for summer 2020, but was pushed back due to the pandemic.

With a 20-song setlist containing nine songs from her 2020 album ‘Chromatica,’ Gaga performed ‘Monster’ for the first time since 2014.

The setlist was divided into five acts, opening with a trio of fan favorites in ‘Bad Romance,’ ‘Just Dance,’ and ‘Poker Face.’

She also belted out ‘911,’ ‘Telephone,’ ‘Born This Way,’ ‘The Edge of Glory,’ and ‘Shallow.’

For the encore, Gaga debuted ‘Hold My Hand,’ which features on the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ movie soundtrack.

Gaga In Gareth Pugh

Lady Gaga opened the show with a video intro wearing a Gareth Pugh Spring 2007 archival design featuring 3-D geometrical protrusions for arms.

I think at this point her fans knew that they were in for a treat, not just musically, but visually.

She then performed ‘Bad Romance’ wearing another Gareth Pugh look which was a custom creation.  This one was giving Transformers versus Robo Cop.

If you’re not a fan of the Gaga theatrics, then this puff sleeved, paper-bag waist leather Gareth Pugh look inspired by the Fall 2018 collection might be more appeasing. The singer wore this while singing ‘Poker Face.’

Gaga In Alexander McQueen

While performing ‘Babylon’ the singer was dripping in gold wearing a custom Alexander McQueen tailored molten metallic gold moiré look.

And was flanked by her dancers also wearing matching custom Alexander McQueen outfits.

The most Gaga-esque of the Alexander McQueen looks came while performing ‘Stupid Love.’

I love how the cropped leather from the Pre-Spring 2023 collection was heavily detailed with silver metal eyelets.

This piece was worn over a latex crystal embellished bodysuit.

I’m sure you expected at least one look with alien like form from her tour wardrobe.

Singing ‘Alice’ we got a two part Topo Studio look which almost feels anatomical.

The detailing on this look is breath-taking.

The jacket is removed to reveal another latex bodysuit from Vex Latex which appears smeared in blood for her performance of ‘Replay’.

This look was styled with Paula Rowan leather gloves and lace up boots.

This was my favourite look. Mostly for the pointy shoulders, and sleek cuts.

Versace are yet to announce which looks they created for this tour, but this one reminds me of Lady Gaga’s 2011 custom Versace look for a New Years Eve performance.

The impact of the look was not lost when the shoulders were removed surprisingly.

We got another cropped leather jacket and latex bodysuit moment while performing ‘Hold My Hand’ which included a homage to Edward Scissorhands.

This gold metallic pleated robe was likely worn to reveal the Alexander McQueen gold look above.

I could never resist a caped look, and this one – which had plenty of drama and volume – reminded me of a Catholic Vestment.
