Caitriona Balfe Wore Alexander McQueen To The 2021 British Independent Film Awards

Catriona Balfe was back on the red carpet for the 2021 British Independent Film Awards held at Old Billingsgate on Sunday (December 5) in London.

The ‘Belfast’ star has always leaned towards dramatic shapes, and looks with sharp contrasts, so I wasn’t surprised to see her wearing this look from the Alexander McQueen Resort 2022 collection.

For me, that has always been part of Catriona’s charm.  Taking a risk.

Perhaps this comes from her former modelling career.  Or perhaps she has full confidence in her stylist Karla Welch who has such a great eye.

Some might feel that the elements are at odds with each other. 

Slashed ruffled jacket with a pink ruffled skirt.

To me this look is very typical of Sarah Burton’s love for marrying shape and volume in a fashion forward, ultra-feminine way.

The only thing not working for me here was the eye makeup.
