Cynthia Erivo Wore Gucci To The ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards

The ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards also took place virtually on Thursday (April 22).

We start with Cynthia Erivo who has the most stamps on her virtual red carpet passport this season.

She started off the season strong in Valentino Haute Couture at the Golden Globes, but her recent looks from Lanvin for the 2021 NAACP Image Awards and Louis Vuitton at the BAFTAs were met with lukewarm to cool responses.

For me, she was able to turn things around for this event wearing custom Gucci.

She had me at bright orange, then I stayed for the sequins and crystals.

The side picture is a beautiful portrait, but I think seeing the dress from the front was a better sell, as the bow, folds and accent elevate the look, but I love the journey of the reveal from all angles.

This is a remarkable dress which sees Cynthia back to her very best.

The look was styled with a selection of jewels including Mateo Obtuse diamond and pearl earrings.
