Little Mix Rock Two Looks Each For The 2020 MTV EMAs

As we all know Little Mix is a quartet, but only three hit the red carpet for the 2020 MTV EMAs show on Sunday (November 8) in London.

Perrie Edwards: The singer showcased new bangs which was a highlight in itself, but they were no match for her suit-turned-leotard-turned-ruffle train combo from Act N°1.  The Milan based brand is known for their unique punk-meets-haute couture designs which are rooted in Chinese art and Azerbaijani craft. This was a lot detail to contend with. One could easily get lost in those ruffles, but Perrie had the stature and attitude to make it work for her.  This was one of my favorites on the night.

Perrie switched into this blue Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili bustier faux leather jacket from the Fall 2020 collection.  Imagine trying to not get tongue tied when a report ask you who your wearing on the red carpet.  You may feel that this dress has a lesser impact, but that’s because the first was so dramatic.  I really wish she’d switch up her hair for this look.  A sleek high ponytail would’ve sufficed.

Sophia Webster Rosalind Gem sandals completed her look.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock: The first look from Annakiki’s Spring 2021 collection – styled with Giuseppe Zanotti Harmony sandals – was like a ball of flames thanks to the bold hue and puff sleeves.

But I was more taken with the Luis De Javier second look which felt much more unique/off-brand for the Little Mix singer.  My first thought was this feels like an FKA twigs look, but Leigh-Anne totally rocked it. Once again perspex sandals prove that we may have judge them way too early.

Jade Thirlwall: Finally Jade’s raspberry swirl look from Annakiki’s Spring 2021 collection was one of the highlights of the evening.  I mean who doesn’t love a head-to-toe pink candy cane outfit that looks good enough to eat?  The blazer and tights combo was styled with Ego Cyan perspex mules.

Her second look may have had a huge does of familiarity as it hails from the Saint Laurent Fall 2017 collection. Does it pale into comparison to the other looks when this LBD has a dazzling diamante shoulder detail?

Little Mix are styled by London-based design team Zack Tate and Jamie Mcfarland. I think they absolutely nailed all these looks. I particularly love that the selected up-and-coming designers for the most part.
