America Ferrera, Alicia Keys and Kerry Washington and joined forces to celebrate the power of voting to spur voter turnout with a nationally televised and streaming special set called, ‘Every Vote Counts – A Celebration of Democracy,’ which will air on Thursday, October 29 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and its All Access streaming platform, iHeartMedia radio stations and apps, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Apple Music and TV, Amazon Music, Twitch, NowThis, Tidal and other platforms.
When it comes to political matters we have seen celebrities turn to suits.
I think for the most part, it keeps the message in focus. A bright red dress in a political setting – unless you are the First Lady – is likely to see the internet erupt with articles and memes saying either how “unprofessional” the look was, or rants about how audacious it was.
Suits are used to convey power and authority, as well as stability and safety, so its’ not a surprise that in this political arena that America Ferrera, Alicia Keys and Kerry Washington all opted for black suits.
What I love is that each lady picked a suit that showcased their own individual style.
America Ferrera: Usually one of our queens w ho loves colour, I adore how America added blue cat-eyes for some flare. The long line nature of the blazer is very flattering, but it’s the silk blouse I love as it added a feminine feel.
Alicia Keys: The only one of the trio who opted for Haute Couture, the singer wore a Balmain Fall 2020 suit. I feel like the bold shoulder is back and we need to accept it. This look felt so luxe from the velvet fabrication to the three diamond buttons.
Kerry Washington: Of the three looks. I am Kerry. Kerry is me. Not only for the tonal take on a timeless animal print, but also for the tailored, sharp silhouette of this Veronica Beard suit.
