Lizzo has always been body confident, however, in a recent interview with David Letterman for his Netflix series, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,’ the singer opened up about receiving endless comments about her body size.
She admitted, “It bothered me for a long time that all people could talk about — or think about — was my size.”
Much to my surprise, because she’s so outwardly confident, and her messages on social media were always in a tone of “you can kiss my ass if you don’t like it.”
But this goes back to the #BeKind message, as you never really know what people are going through.
On her latest Instagram post she continued to encourage her followers to vote with the hastag #iamvoter.
She wore an abstract gingham red and white Christian Siriano Spring 2021 three-piece suit against a blue background.
I’m sure the colour scheme was no coincidence.
I was very critical of Lizzo’s Moschino dress at the 2020 BRIT Awards, as I felt it was a very poor version of the look we saw on the runway and it didn’t really flatter, but Christian Siriano has always been a designer who knows how to make has makes clothes for women of all shapes and sizes – as all designers should.
A woman over size two should not be hindered when it comes to her choices.
As someone how lives in crop tops, even the abs have faded, I not only appreciate the style and fit of this look, but also the powerful message behind it.
The only thing I would’ve loved to have seen with this look, is a pair of red shoes like the runway.
