2020 NAACP Image Awards Nominees Luncheon

The 51st NAACP Image Awards will take place on 23 February, with Rihanna set to receive the President’s Award for not only her “groundbreaking career as an artist and musician, but (someone who) has also distinguished herself as a stellar public servant.”

Ahead of the event, there was a nominees luncheon hosted on Saturday (February 1) in Pasadena, California.

Marsai Martin: The young ‘Black-ish’ star was easy to spot in this Silvia Tchearssi ‘Filis’ dress.

Yellow is fast becoming my favourite colour of the week following Jodie Turner-Smith.  This colour is gorgeous on Marsai.

I love the two-tone belt that this dress originally came with, but I also love how Marsai made this look her own, with the only contrast coming from her micro white bag and the embellishment on her matchy Kurt Geiger ‘Duke’ pumps.

Shahadi Wright Joseph:  The ‘Us’ actress knows the impact of colour, having shared the red carpet with the queen of bold colour, Lupita Nyong’o.

Shahadi was a vision in red ADEAM Spring 2020 with the flared sleeves bringing some drama.

I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of her snakeskin platforms.  I would’ve loved silver, blue or tan here, but she looks gorgeous nonetheless.

An ATELIER SWAROVSKI ‘Gilded Treasures Articulating’ ring completed her look.
