On Tuesday (October 22) Lupita Nyong’o celebrated the launch of her debut children’s book, ‘Sulwe’, at Le Chalet at L’Avenue at Saks in New York City.
The multi-hyphenate actress-author’s ode to colour may have taken a bit of a back seat with her last few outings, but I have to remember that colour isn’t the only thing that defines Lupita’s style.
Lupita wore an Ermanno Scervino blazer cut with a modern long-line fit.
This tailored blazer jacket is finished with a sophisticated Prince of Wales check for a timeless finish, but what I really love is the fasing metallic stones which gave the look some shimmer.
The jacket was layered with a mannish shirt and satin slip dress with lace inserts which was adorned with a sparking star.
It was apparent stars were the theme of the night since ‘Sulwe’ is a Luo term which means ‘The Star’.
The black pumps were as expected here, along with the jewel accents in her hair.
