Balmain Partners With Björk For Her ‘Cornucopia’ Tour

Billed as Björk’s most elaborate staged concert to date, the Icelandic singer-songwriter kick started her  residency show ‘Cornucopia’ on Wednesday (May 7) at Manhattan’s The Shed art space.

Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s creative director, designed fourteen costumes; three for Björk and eleven for her performers, which as you can see, have been inspired by the Balmain Spring 2019 Haute Couture collection.

Over her three-decade solo career, Björk has developed an eclectic and avant-garde musical style that incorporates aspects of electronic, dance, alternative dance, trip hop, experimental, glitch, jazz, alternative rock, instrumental, and contemporary classical music.

Her style has also followed that same vein, as she’s championed radical fashion throughout her career, both on and off stage.

When it comes it comes to Björk, it’s safe to say she has no contemporaries.  Which may explain why she’s stayed relevant for so long.
