‘Black Panther’ star Danai Gurira joined a host of celebrities on the red carpet for the 2019 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday (March 30) in Hollywood, California.

The classic mermaid silhouette was flipped on its head by Rosie Assoulin who designed this striped halter with a dramatic tiered skirt.

Some might feel that this was a relative easy look for Danai, and wanted something with a bit more edge, but I feel that she managed to perfectly marry elegance and modernity with this intriguing look.

For me, there is enough dynamism imbued from her hairstyle.
