Marina de Tavira In Giambattista Valli – 2019 Directors Guild Of America Awards

Marina de Tavira was in attendance at the 2019 DGA Awards alongside Laura Harrier and Helen Mirren on Saturday (February 2) in Hollywood, California.

The ‘Roma’ actress brought out her bewitching bohemian side in a Giambattista Valli Fall 2018 gown.

Many modifications have been made between the runway version and what she presented.

The original style had charm with its contrasting hems and sheer embroidered sleeves.

Her version has a darker mood with the inky lining and belt. There are elements I miss from the catwalk dress that would have made it a really memorable look, but this more classic style does suit her aesthetic.

Thoughts?

Quite a lot of flowers had to die for this one.

I don’t like the dress either way those hers is better than the model’s mullet.

Something about it feels heavy but her version is sooo much better than the runway version.

The runway version would have looked twee on her as was the case when Taraji wore it. I think she looks nice in her version, plus her version gives a more low key vibe that this awards ceremony has.

      Agreed, this one is nicer.

Agree, the runway version is not attractive at all.

    Taraji wore the runway version.
