Cynthia Erivo In Valentino – 2018 Met Gala

While Cynthia Erivo certainly made an impression at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, it was likely something you didn’t see immediately that was one of the most thematic—and slightly irreverent—elements of her look.

Sure, this custom Valentino cutout gown in royal aubergine velvet was nothing short of provocatively regal.

And, her bejeweled-crown brows and nose ring only pushed the decoratively holy boundaries further.

But, it was her manicure that made the most waves. On her long two-inch talons was a minauturized rendition of the Sistine Chapel’s iconic ‘Creation of Adam’ that featured two black women.
