V&A Fashioned from Nature VIP Preview

The V&A Fashioned from Nature VIP Preview on Wednesday (April 18) in London, England saw a few attendees pay tribute to the naturalistic theme.

Natalie Imbruglia: Turning heads with a captivating pattern and a voluminous silhouette, the Australian singer wore Bora Aksu Spring 2018. The muted blue prevents the heart pattern from become twee. Presumably, she added the jacket for a similar reason, but I would have liked to see the ensemble without it. The Bottega Veneta clutch was more successful.

Arizona Muse: The model’s white Stella McCartney outfit had a subtle flapper sentiment with the short silhouette, long necklace and her sculpted waves. The white and blue combination has such a refreshing springtime air but I wish the necklace was shortened so it wouldn’t compete with the delicate peplum.

Ellise Chappell: The ‘Poldark’ actress embraced the natural theme with a whimsical dress from Alice Archer. The frills, sheer polka dot fabric and watercolour floral print are brimming with romance. The metallic shoes added more ethereal beauty.

Pippa Bennett-Warner: The bold polka dots might not have an obvious nature reference, but it’s no matter because the British beauty looked striking in this Suzannah look. The statement red earrings echo the scale of the dots while framing her face.

Laura Jackson: The TV presenter certainly embraced the theme in a Stella McCartney Landscape print dress from the Spring 2017 collection. MR by Man Repeller shoes added more colour but they weren’t as successful as the Stella McCartney Shaggy Deer Blush Falabella bag.

Lady Amelia Windsor: The young royal sported prints, but went for a much smaller scale with her ALEXACHUNG dress. Monica Vinader jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes matched the softness of the fabric. I would have preferred it without the short orange necklace.

Ellie Goulding: This marked another time the singer donned a look from the Stella McCartney Spring 2018 collection. I hope this one goes down more favorably than her 2018 Brit Awards ensemble, but I won’t be surprised if many take issue with the way her long hair masks the asymmetrical neckline and sleeve.
