Nicole Kidman In Valentino – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Nicole Kidman looked radiant on the red carpet for the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California, where she was awarded Best Actress in a Movie Made for TV or a Limited Series for ‘Big Little Lies’.

The actress gave us a sneak peek at the upcoming Valentino Fall 2018 collection wearing this hot pink creation by Pierpaolo Piccioli.

I love the sense of romance which is enhanced by the delicate ruffles and the semi-sheer fabrication, but it the unexpected bold colour which really captivated me.

René Caovilla sandals and Fred Leighton jewels completed her look.

It looks so cheap with the spangles against the hot pink. I’m cringing.

This dress is a weird combination of matronly and twee at the same time.

  3. Vihra January 12, 2018 at 21:19 #

Love the dress. 🙂 Would like if she’d done something different with her hair. 😀

  4. Fee January 12, 2018 at 20:50 #

The dress is let down by the wrong hair and makeup.

  5. TeaAtTwo January 12, 2018 at 18:59 #

I really like the colour on her but I feel she’s done this type of dress a lot recently.

I love Nicole’s style, but this is terrible. There’s some weird correlation between this stick straight hairstyle and bad dresses. Almost every time she wears her hair like this the dress hasn’t been a win either.

Maybe it’s the first pose but I find this to be way too twee for Nicole Kidman. The color is nice and that is it.

I don’t like this – at all. That color is too jarring and I am tired of seeing the romantic, rufflly gowns on Nicole. This looks way too cheap because of the color.

  9. Nat39 January 12, 2018 at 16:34 #

No, that pink is just too much, looks garish, not liking the makeup either.

This is bad, bad, bad… Like a very old ‘Quinceañera’ dress. If you are curious just click on the link

  11. Fanny January 12, 2018 at 15:41 #

The shape of the dress is beautiful but the color hurts my eyes.

  12. Leandra January 12, 2018 at 15:29 #

I hate so much this colour that I can’t be unbiased. Big No.

  13. Pheephee January 12, 2018 at 15:09 #

O No. This is a bad color and silly looking. Almost cheap looking I dare say.

  14. meme January 12, 2018 at 15:07 #

There is nothing good here. Nothing.

Probably I am the biggst fan of Nicole as an actress and her style. I just loved her Golden Globe dress. Best dressed of the night. But this appearance is one I don’t like at all. Very sad. Just want to forget it. For good.

One of Loretta Lynn’s 1970’s Grand Ole Opry costumes threw up on a pair of Walmart sheer curtains. This is the worst look. Ever.

      Yes! This. ^^

  17. Evita January 12, 2018 at 13:51 #

This is probably my least favorite Valentino look in recent history

I adore the colour but can’t quite put my finger on what I don’t like about it. I don’t know if it’s just a little bit too Glinda for Nicole… getting serious Good Witch of the North vibes.

I’m kind of over the high necked, seventies and victoriana inspired, long sleeved dresses. Only when done really well and understated, combined with modern styling, it feels truly chic and stylish. More than ever though, it feels matronly and dated.

Because of the sheer panel, this feels less prim and proper than most of these type of dresses, but somehow it still feels somewhat matronly. The colour is lovely though. Good match for her skin tone.

  20. Crystalline January 12, 2018 at 13:27 #

Not the best color for her. The style of the dress is fine for her. But the color is just not right.

  21. Iva January 12, 2018 at 13:00 #

I should love this – given the color and the style of the dress – but, sadly, I don’t think it works on her.

  22. Mimi January 12, 2018 at 12:57 #

As someone who really dislikes Nicole’s style, I have to say I like this!! That color was made for her!

  23. Schoolbea January 12, 2018 at 12:44 #

Oh, I don’t agree about the colour… The first thing I thought was, give this to me in another colour and I would’ve loved it. Navy blue, black, even Valentino red.

    • Leandra January 12, 2018 at 15:31 #

Exactly. The colour is a hideous concoction that should be reserved only in small doses like bikinis or accessories.

  24. james January 12, 2018 at 12:11 #

I feel like she has worn something similar not too long ago. Don’t like it on her.

  25. Alina January 12, 2018 at 12:01 #

God, no. Elle Fanning wouldn’t wear this, so why would Nicole? Just… no.

    • Charlotte January 12, 2018 at 13:12 #

+1, it is so wrong on her!

    • Fiona-Brasil January 12, 2018 at 14:04 #

      + 2

    • Chris January 12, 2018 at 14:38 #

      You’ve got a point…

  26. Tiger Nueng January 12, 2018 at 11:59 #

Love the color on her, hope more bold color at SAG awards

  27. Maria F. January 12, 2018 at 11:58 #

the colour with the ruffles and the sequins does unfortunately look cheap to me.

Plus, she is just too elegant for these rather youthful dresses she likes to wear.

  28. Martin January 12, 2018 at 11:57 #

Colour is great, fabrication is not. In the first thumbnail shot, the skirt looks like a deflated meringue. I never thought I would say this about a Nicole Kidman red carpet look and it pains me to say so, but it looks cheap.

  29. Kimma January 12, 2018 at 11:42 #

There’s a lot to like about this look but it still had room for improvement in my opinion. I would have preferred sans sleeves and an updo.

  30. Caroline January 12, 2018 at 11:40 #

Don’t like this at all. Horrible look for Nicole.
