December 4, 2017 Runway To Red Carpet

Sonam Kapoor In Atelier Zuhra – Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards 2017

Taking the ‘glamour’ piece of the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards 2017 quite literally, Sonam Kapoor shut down the red carpet when she swept onto the scene on Friday (December 1) in Mumbai, India.

Joining Katrina Kaif for the event, Sonam had nothing short of a stunning, gilded princess moment in an Atelier Zuhra golden confection that shone rather brightly.

I like how the brassier gold-metallic paillettes were tempered by the more subtle, matte effect of the skirt’s floral tapestry embroidery.

With her matching tiara, this is a dazzling look that would have made even King Midas proud.

    A tiara??REALLY??
It took this dress directly to “costumey”.
Why do Bollywood stars always try so hard?

+1. I always wonder why some celebs end up wearing terribly ill fitting outfits on red carpet.
I mean, if they’re not z-list celebs, don’t they have fitting sessions prior to an event, or alternative choices in case a dress doesn’t fit them?
Or maybe they love the outfit so much, think they look fab even if it’s ill fitting, and nobody in their entourage dares saying anything…

Poor girl, must be suffocating in that bustier or corset. It’s way too tight

The crown is ridiculous ya, but the dress is really striking. Its beautiful.

In the minority but I like this look, crown included.

I look at this picture and it could easily belong to a 2008 event, however, I cannot help but gasp because she makes it work, somehow.

I actually like the gown, I think it’s quite striking, but the sugary crown is an obvious overkill, agreed.

Kinda over these types of dresses. The crown takes this into overwrought territory for me.

ITA. This is just the definition of too much.

I just can’t get on board with this look – it’s too much of everything and strays well into comical territory. A little subtlety goes a long way – removing the tiara would be a good start, but that still leaves the gaudy embellishment unfortunately. Sonam should have given this look a hard pass.

I hate to say it but the gown looks quite cheap, it almost looks like it was made from a christmas tree skirt. She deserves better.

Cheap-looking dress and dated look overall.
